𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝟗𝟔𝟏𝟐𝟕? CPT code 96127 is a billing code used for conducting brief emotional and behavioral assessments performed with standardized instruments. CPT 96127 may be used for administering screenings, such as the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9). It includes scoring and documentation and refers to tools like depression inventories, substance abuse risk screenings, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) scales. You can use it as part of initial screening or as a method of monitoring. This code is fairly versatile, as you can use it: With adults, children, and adolescents. For patients already being treated for mental illness. For patients with complex medical issues. At any point during care, including post-hospitalization or new diagnoses. With most major insurance providers, including Medicare. When administered by a qualified healthcare professional, not just psychiatrists. With multiple assessments — up to four — per session. #credentialing #medicalbilling #healthcareprofessionals

NHS Industry Advice, Training and Management Consultancy. Strategic insight and troubleshooting for NHS providers, Federations, Networks, Pharma, Med Tech and Device companies.
New guidance has been issued regarding the culture of care we all expect when it comes to #mentalhealth inpatient services. The standards apply to all NHS-funded mental health inpatient service types, including those for people with a learning disability and autistic people, as well as specialised mental health inpatient services such as mother and baby units, secure services, and children and young people’s mental health inpatient services. This guidance supports providers in realising the culture of care that everyone, including people who use services, families, carers, and staff, want to experience in mental health inpatient settings. #autism #learningdisability #pharma #medtech #devices

As we listen to the news everyday, we are bombarded with daily reports of suicides, depression, celebrities who are battling mental health issues and how important it is to recognize this issue. Why then can we not get isnurnce companies to pay for the screening, and management by primary care docs. I can refer patients to get on a waiting list to see a specialist who will get paid but as a Pediatrician I cannot get paid to determine if the child really needs to see them at all. If I think a child has autism I do not have the authority to order ABA therapy without a specialist signing on too. Are we just not padding the bills by creating these hoops to jump through? We have great digital screeners for our patients but cannot get medicaid to cover them. Is it time for universal child health care plans?

Did you know that New York State has an ombudsman program overseeing long-term care and skilled nursing facilities? It's amazing! However, it's disgraceful that there's no program monitoring mental health facilities. Mental health is as crucial as physical health, and it's time for the government to prioritize oversight. Let's ensure all facilities meet high standards. #mentalhealthawareness #healthcareoversight #mentalhealthmatters
