In motion graphics, match cuts are used to create smooth transitions between two different visual elements or scenes. By aligning similar shapes, movements, colours, or themes, match cuts can seamlessly guide the viewer's eye from one element to the next. This technique is particularly effective in maintaining visual flow and coherence, making the transition appear natural and almost unnoticeable. Let me know what you think of my silly example.

This experimental hyperlapse video is titled "Side Street Stories." It offers an exploration of the streets, providing a glimpse into the various stories unfolding in a central location. All the footage was captured by walking with a camera in hand, snapping multiple quick photos while keeping the camera as steady as possible. The process involved remixing these images by combining different layers to achieve a "newspaper" texture, reflecting events that happen in real time and are communicated through media (newspaper canvas). Torppa – Graphics Demo part 2 As promised, here is the demo clip of Torppa. At first I just basically showcased the scene quickly which ended in with the cameraman jumping into the outhouse. A friend of mine then told me that there needs to be a proper story. No matter how insignificant, just make up something small. And this was absolutely true. The toiled ending didn’t really cut it. So, I rolled my sleeves again and got back at it. I didn’t just want to make some subtle environmental storytelling. I expanded the scene with the river with its stunning low-res flowing water, pimped up the yard with some graves, filled the barn with bodies and modeled, rigged and animated the pitchfork man. This whole project was a real hoot. I learned so much in such a little time. And the best thing was that I did this just because I wanted to do it. It was not a part of anything. Just pure inner motivation to learn and experiment. The one thing I’m certain after this is that the next game project I’ll make is going to utilize this kind of retro graphics visual style. Just a bit more optimized and polished. I love this.
