The #EUelections2024 are taking place in less than 6 weeks, and will be of critical importance to ensure the #GreenDeal and its ambitions live on and are implemented. EuropeOn and its members are committed to a swift #EnergyTransition, powered by #electrification and leading to the creation of skilled and local job opportunities. #ULEAD #CEMR #cooperation #partnership The Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), in cooperation with U-LEAD with Europe, has launched an innovative Matchmaking Platform to foster cooperation and partnerships among local governments across Europe. The announcement was made during the CEMR Leaders’ Summit held on December 10th in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Racing Ahead: 11 Bids Submitted for Bucharest-Giurgiu High-Speed Road Study... Romania’s Transport Minister Sorin Grindeanu announced 11 bids for the feasibility study of the Bucharest-Giurgiu high-speed road, part of Pan-European Transport Corridor 9. The CNIR-led contract, valued at 44 million lei (excluding VAT), spans 18 months, with 16 months for the study and 2 months for technical assistance. The project, funded by EU grants, will evaluate route options, road type (highway or expressway), cement-concrete infrastructure, and connections, including the future Giurgiu-Ruse II Danube Bridge. Financing solutions, including PPPs, will also be analyzed, paving the way for streamlined cross-border connectivity. (Source: Adevarul)

📢 Exciting news from #CEFTransport! They’ve received 258 proposals seeking €9.5 billion in funding—nearly 4x the available €2.5 billion budget. The evaluation process is now underway, with results expected by July 2025 and grant agreements signed by October 2025. 🚆🚛✈️
