This isn't a matter to be taken lightly. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI India ) and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) are under considerable pressure to adhere to international regulations set forth by the United Nations and the Commonwealth. These guidelines are enforced across governments, ensuring compliance through our constitution. This framework is designed to uphold the highest standards of production in world-class manufacturing facilities. However, the issue at hand involves products like biscuits, which, despite being labeled as containing certain ingredients like cashew nuts or being made from whole wheat flour, do not meet these expectations. This discrepancy, while legally permissible under the established global regulations, raises significant ethical concerns. It challenges our principles of humanity and religion, even though it remains within the bounds of legal standards. This situation is not unique to any one country but is a global challenge that requires our attention and action. It's a call to rethink and possibly reformulate the standards and regulations we adhere to, ensuring they truly serve the best interest of consumers and uphold ethical values alongside legal requirements. Let's engage in thoughtful discussions on this matter. It's crucial for professionals and industry leaders to contemplate the broader implications of these practices and consider the path forward in creating a more transparent, ethical, and consumer-friendly environment. #EthicalStandards #GlobalRegulations #ConsumerRights #ThoughtLeadership #SSJM United Nations United Nations Volunteers

A ‘cheesy’ controversy? 👉 What: The Maharashtra FDA has shut down a McDonald's unit in Ahmednagar and accused the fast food giant of using cheaper substitutes instead of cheese and misleading customers with the naming of products on its menu. 👉 Reaction: McDonald’s maintains its stance of using “milk-based real cheese”. However, the fast food chain has removed the term cheese from its product names. The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded the government to ban McDonald’s across the country due to health concerns of using counterfeit raw materials. 👉 What are “cheese analogues?” Also known as cheese substitutes, they are designed to mimic the taste, texture, and functionality of cheese while typically replacing milk or dairy fat with a cheaper vegetable oil. 👉 What next: - Pan India investigations on McDonald’s - Investigation of other fast food chains indulging in similar practice - Possible regulations on display of nutritional information on boards and menu
