I am writing this post to highlight the operational inefficiencies and customer support of SpiceJet Limited that has left me pretty disappointed. I had booked a flight for my spouse from Delhi to Mumbai on 23rd April, 2024 using our credit card reward points. My spouse had to be there in Mumbai on 23rd April, 2024 for her personal urgency. To our dismay, the flight was cancelled by Spicejet and rescheduled for the next day (with more than 20 hours difference). Additionally, we got informed of the flight cancellation less than 12 hours before the flight. We could not afford this inconvenience so my spouse had to book an alternate flight with another airline to ensure she reached Mumbai on time. Despite reaching out to Spicejet multiple times via email and phone, we received no resolution. We did not want a full refund for the flight. Our request to reschedule the flight for an alternate date was denied (even when we were ready to pay the extra fare difference) and our concerns were met with silence. From a reputed airlines company like Spicejet, I had expected better customer support. The lack of communication, disregard for customer needs, and inefficiencies in resolving issues reflect poorly on the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. While I acknowledge that disruptions can occur in the airline industry, it's how they are managed that sets companies apart. Unfortunately, Spicejet's handling of this situation has left much to be desired. Spicejet needs to reassess its customer service protocols especially during flight cancellation scenarios.
