Word for advice for all overseas family medicine doctors currently hunting a job in UAE: many job advertised by various common recruitment agencies titled as "family medicine consultant" do not exist. These jobs are fake and just to lure overseas doctors especially from UK into applying for a licence. These agencies charge extortionate amount of fee for licence which can be done easily yourself for a fraction of fee. These agencies promise to get you a job (which does not exist). Please do not be fooled by these job adds and do your own research.

Dear Overseas Radiographer/Sonographer, This is one of the many reasons why getting a job in the UK is now tougher than it has ever been. UK employers have been mandated to train and prioritize their own first before considering Overseas applications. So that while it's always been quite competitive to get jobs abroad, the regulations have now tightened even more, making it a lot harder to secure interviews and jobs. This is not to say the UK is not recruiting from overseas anymore, they are. It's just more competitive now and you should be mentally ready for this if your goal is to work in the UK. On an average, more competition means more rejections, get with the program! Don't dwell on these rejections, they aren't all necessarily a reflection of your skills and expertise; a lot of times the employers just have other priorities to consider. Just keep putting yourself out there to maximise your chances of securing interviews. Stay motivated, and remain laser-focused on your goals. People are still getting hired from overseas, albeit in a smaller number, and you could be one of them! GP job in Dubai Shared by a Doctor , who is working in Dubai. Many Thanks for her valuable time. Waiting for your stories as well, guys. To work as a GP in Dubai, you have to pass an exam called DHA and your documents should be verified by the dataflow. Documents need to be verified includes: 1. MBBS degree 2. PMDC license 3. House job certificate 4. Experience certificate 5. Good standing certificate 6. And any further post graduation certificate if you have any. Exam and document verification can be processed simultaneously. For exam: there are books and online mcq for preparation. After passing the exam you will be given “eligibility letter”. You will start hunting for jobs after getting this letter. Once you secure the job, your eligibility letter will be converted to license by the hospital. DHA eligibility/license can be converted to MOH (Sharjah) without any uae experience. But to convert DHA license to HAAD (Abu Dhabi) you need at least 3 months work experience in Dubai. There are multiple online websites for job hunting; which are: 1. LinkedIn 2. Indeed 3. Glassdoor 4. Bayt.com 5. Naukri gulf 6. Gulf talent Plus there are websites of the hospital too, where you can drop your cv on career links shows on the site. When I did the dataflow and exam in 2022; following was the price: Exam: 65,250 rs Dataflow: 66,500 rs Now the price will be different considering the currency conversion rate. You have to be in DUBAI at the time of job hunting, as they do not take interviews online. Plus before coming to Dubai, get your MBBS degree attested by MOFA and UAE embassy.

What i noted in Job interviews for large scale corporate hospitals for doctors in Dubai Usually when we meet the Human resource team ,they are not looking for an experienced or skilled physician who they can hire to serve their business interest . The concept that you are dealing with professionals who heal human lives , who have given at least 16 years of their life dedicating to this profession seems to completely forgotten. I have personally witnessed these so called hiring managers who literally look for people who are desperate , anxious with a dozen other commitments , they try to harness every single ounce of the candidates position to squeeze the life for what may i ask ? These are the demands i commonly see these days 1)Wanted RUSSIAN dermatologist (Why ? does the skill of dermatology come with a passport ? ) 2)Wanted western doctors (Being Caucasian seems to be an added advantage here ) 3)Female radiologist only , (Did i and many of my respected seniors , juniors and colleagues spend years to develop the eye of picking disease , study through countless exams , finish around 400 000 cases so far and above based on gender discrimination ) i always joke with my male radiology friends , instead of paying for tickets to London , Canada , Singapore for clearing our Fellowship boards , it would have been easier if we did a sex reassignment surgery in thailand maybe. 4) We need on call duty according to company policy ( just a code name for we will use you 24 hours 7 days a week without pay and recompensation of time

Our studies, work experiences, practicals, and licensed exams have brought us this far. MAKE IT WORTH IT. Nowadays, most opticals, clinics, and hospitals have decreased the salary range for optometrists and increased the working hours. Please consider the professional and organized nature of our position before joining a company. Apply for positions according to your experience, whether in retail or clinical settings. We conducted a rough survey of optical shops in #Dubai and #Abudhabi regarding their stock, brands, staff, timing, and salaries. We found that many optometrists are joining for very low pay, ranging from 2000 AED to 3500 AED. Based on this, we are planning to associate with some of the chief executive members from the health authority to establish a minimum salary scale for licensed optometrists.
