ETE ReadyMix Wins Contract to Supply Concrete for NEOM’s Running Tunnel Lots 4&5 Project. Eastern Ready-Mix Concrete Company, ETE ReadyMix, a leading provider of ready-mix concrete in Saudi Arabia, has been awarded a contract to supply around one million cubic meters of concrete for the construction of NEOM’s Running Tunnel (Mountain Section) Lots 4&5 project. The contract was awarded by SHA Joint Venture (Samsung-Hyundai-ARCHIRODON Joint Venture), which is building sections of “The Line”, a futuristic city in NEOM that aligns with the 2030 Vision. One of the main challenges of building “The Line” is to overcome the rugged terrain of the mountains that separate the coast from the desert. To achieve this, NEOM has awarded one of the world’s largest drill and blast tunneling contracts to two joint venture groups: FCC/CSCEC/SAJCO JV and SHAJV. The contract covers the construction of two 28-km-long tunnels that will provide separate tunnels for high-speed and freight rail services. The tunnels will enable the movement of people and goods between the coast and the desert in less than 20 minutes. ETE ReadyMix has set up three enhanced batching plants with a total capacity of 540 cubic meters per hour to support the construction of NEOM’s Running Tunnel (Mountain Section) Lots 4&5 project. The plants will serve 12.5 km of tunnel work hour.
