It will monitor AI trends and ensure alignment with EU policies . 🔹The Office will be responsible for developing AI evaluation tools, overseeing AI regulations, addressing risks, and ensuring coordinated supervision of AI systems. It will also support the consistent application and practical implementation of AI regulations, collaborating with stakeholders and EU bodies. #AI

The EU Artificial Intelligence Act (‘EU AI Act’) was formally published on July 12th in the Official Journal and will enter into force in 20 days. The EU AI Act is key for the trustworthy use of AI systems, fostering collaboration, innovation and trust, acknowledging the need for global alignment on AI governance. Here's a breakdown of its key functions: ▶ Centralized AI Expertise The EU AI Office acts as the central hub for AI knowledge within the #EuropeanUnion. This means they'll be the go-to source for information and guidance on AI matters. ▶ Enforcing the AI Act The office plays a critical role in enforcing the regulations laid out in the AI Act, particularly for high-risk general-purpose AI (#GPAI) models. This involves supervising these models across EU member states. ▶ Supporting Governance The EU AI Office works with national regulatory bodies and the AI Board to ensure consistent implementation of the AI Act throughout the EU. ▶ Fostering trustworthy AI Overall, the office aims to promote the development and use of AI that is trustworthy, meaning it adheres to ethical and legal standards. ▶ International Cooperation The EU AI Office serves as the EU's voice in international discussions and collaborations on AI policy. 🤔 OK...and then?
