💎 Inspired to Learn, Empowered to Serve There's a real warmth spreading through my heart these days, fueled by a love of learning and a deep desire to connect. I recently gained a new certification in Clinical and Medical Learning at Medmastery, and it reminded me of the incredible potential we all possess – not just for physical health, but for connection, compassion, and teamwork. In our fast-paced world, it's easy to get swept up in the latest technology. But let's not forget about the most powerful force we have: the human spirit. AI and innovation are amazing tools, but let's see them as ways to amplify the kindness and compassion that already burn brightly inside each of us. This reminds me of a powerful experience I had recently. A patient passed away, and the nurses' faces were etched with grief. I knew I had to do something to offer support. They were focused on the technical aspects of caring for the deceased. They have the knowledge, the tools to manage the situation, so I simply offered to do something knowing I don't have much to offer. They kindly accepted my offer and asked me to hand them a bag. This seemingly small act became a powerful reminder of the strength we find in teamwork. Though our roles were different, we were all connected in that moment. It felt so good and I am forever grateful they created a space for me to contribute. It highlighted the incredible strength found in diverse teams, where every role contributes to the greater good. When our ego quiets and self-doubt fades, we can simply be present, hold space for each other, and offer a helping hand in times of need. It's a beautiful reminder that big impact is built on small steps, each one a stepping stone towards a better tomorrow. Let's believe in each other's potential, offer unwavering support, and light the way. Each of us has unique gifts and experiences that can make a difference. Finally Taking the Leap! 🚀 After 3 years of being on LinkedIn and watching from the sidelines, I have decided to break free from that cycle. It's time to show up and take action. • Have you been putting off starting that project, business, or making an important decision? • Do you feel overwhelmed whenever you want to begin, only to end up not trying at all? •How about that nagging feeling of inadequacy—thinking you're not ready, or you need to do something else first? Going deeper in understanding biochemical process of living organisms that important for research in Cure Anna Initiative , I often think why nature created such a complex system without giving simple instructions for the self-reboot, quick restart or debugging if something even non-visible goes wrong. It blows my mind seeing what kind of enormous difficulties one single point mutation can bring. Yet, this complexity resides within the average person, whose cognitive efforts might be spent choosing between pizza or a burger for the weekend, or struggling with the color of a dress. The question arises: how can we accelerate the progress and achieve better outcomes in #rare diseases? While the challenges we face may differ in severity, our approaches and research vectors are often quite similar. I recently discovered a six-year-old TEDxMileHigh talk inspired by "The Knowledge Illusion“ a book written by cognitive scientists Steven Sloman and Philip Fernbach. It's about understanding that knowledge isn't just an individual accomplishment but a collective result. We depend on external sources - people, our environment, basic education and the community - to enhance our understanding and shift the joint knowledge base. Our intelligence fundamentally draws on resources that extend beyond our immediate mental grasp, often without us even realizing it. Mentorship plays a crucial role in this dynamic, facilitating the transfer of knowledge and expertise necessary for the progress. I was happy to get a news this week of being selected as one of mentors for the annual Mentor program from Beacon for Rare Diseases. Building meaningful communities and open collaboration platforms is essential to empower decision-makers. In the era of generative AI and widespread data access, the importance of simply creating and distributing knowledge and expertise has greatly transformed. Our focus needs to shift to: - Improving the quality of open knowledge data bases for the better support of decision-makers and DOers, - Creating an open environment for the co-creation among people from diverse backgrounds, but with same challenges in life, - Spreading the word about importance of emotional intelligence development through self-awareness, empathy, self-regulation, and social skills, - Speeding up networking to drive significant results in the #rare community.
