I just returned from an enriching experience at the The American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Conference in DC! As President of AIA Triangle, it was an honor to represent our chapter and be a delegate in the AIA Annual Business Meeting. We voted on officers, bylaw amendments, and resolutions that will shape the future of our profession. The business meeting was no doubt an interesting experience, and while they are some questions surrounding some past national decisions, I was proud to make sure our local chapter’s voice was heard in shaping the organizations future. The conference itself was bustling with energy and innovation. I had the pleasure of making new connections and reconnecting with some past colleagues, some I haven’t seen in years. The expo was filled with new products and ideas, but let’s face it, the biggest hit was obviously the puppy play pen - every barkitects dream. The information seminars were great and covered a wide range of topics. Of particular interest to me was continuing the conversation on AI developments in architecture, something I’m excited to continue the conversation here in AIA Triangle. I’m eager to share more about the developments from the conference and discuss how they will impact our local chapter. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to chat further about AIA! #AIA #MoreIn24 #BusinessDevelopment #DC #Architects #Architecture
