I was at Jalan Besar Stadium watching my beloved Lion City Sailors X Persib Bandung in person. The manner of how we lost to Persib Bandung is heartbreaking given how we lost concentration at defence and conceded 2 goals at final minutes of game. This is a feature I observed in not just Lion City Sailors, but also in Tampines Rovers double header against Nam Dinh in the ongoing ACLTwo campaign. Yes, we may be fatigued especially at closing stages of game (including injury time) but as footballers, we must have the stamina, the discipline to see off 90+ mins of the game. Never play a fool with the passes especially in defence and midfield! Any stray passes and opposition takes advantage and causes havoc to our defence! Never be complacent especially when we have the lead, whether 1-0 up, 2-0 up, etc. You'll never know when opposition will switch things up at the very last minute and use speedy players/wingers to counter attack us! Coaching wise, tactical substitutions can be more towards a like for like change, say Shawal can be substituted for Rasaq instead of Hariss. But starting Shawal is correct! Game management is important, don't be afraid to use relatively untested players like Haiqal Pashia, Nathan Mao, etc. I believe these players do deserve game time too to show us fans on what they can do! Not to mention please use ALL 5 substitutes throughout the game, do also use half time break to make 1 or 2 substitutions too! Qualification to the round of 16 of ACLTwo is very much in our hands, don't let it slip out of our hands! When we are in the lead, MUST stay focused and disciplined till end of final whistle! The mentality must be to go for WINS against Zhejiang away and Port at home! As long as we can get a win against Zhejiang, it's a massive boost to our qualification to the knockout stage. Be careful of Persib Bandung's superior head to head record against us (Persib - 4 points vs LCS - 1 point), so we do need to get these points to run away/escape from Persib Bandung in point tally!
