🔊 Multi-room audio systems are getting more and more popular these days. Although the required technology has been available for a while now, they recently became more affordable for the public. Apart from the discouragingly high price, there were other disadvantages of these systems, such as special wiring and operational requirements, or the very space demanding background devices. ✔️Fortunately, it doesn't work like this anymore. Following the one source per room system, first it was extended to one source for multiple rooms and then developed into managing more sources. Certainly, these systems can still be designed with wiring, but wireless solutions offer a great alternative. ⬇️ And the best part is that you can design the whole audio system in a few minutes. Hello, Legends. Week 2 of this special Feature Friday run. Last Friday, we took an overview of the new InterM IP Audio solution. This week – the audio inputs… There are 2 units which provide an analogue to IP conversion: IP-1000AB The IP-1000AB is a PoE or DC powered, single channel audio input bridge. The Balanced input can be set to line, mic or mic with phantom power. There is also a voltage free contact input which can be used to remotely trigger a prioritised message, perform an HTTP command or bring in a press to talk (PTT) Mic priority. This is ideal if you want a single music source or a single button paging mic over IP.  A contact out is also present to action upon incoming requests. For a simple input to multiple outputs scenario, the IPA-100 server is not required.  Just simply set the IP-1000AB to Controller mode and it will broadcast to other IP output devices, peer-to-peer – even with the RM-N1000 Network multi-zone paging mic. The IP-1000AB also boasts onboard storage along with a Micro SD card slot for even more capacity. The messages and tones stored on this device are also available to be shared by the whole IPA-100 ecosystem. NIA-1104 Imagine getting 4 of the IP-1000AB bridges and fitting them into a single 1u chassis. That’s what this is -  But also more… It is more cost affective than 4 bridges, but more importantly, only requires I IP address for all 4 inputs. If you did this with bridges, you would need 4 IP addresses and 4 ports on a switch. With trim, gain and phantom on all inputs, you really have full control over the analogue sources you are bringing into the IP domain. Anyone using computer audio has likely encountered the dreaded high-pitched whine rising up out of the noise floor. That unwanted whistle is a symptom of a ground loop between your computer and your audio equipment via the sound card. . Enter the Angry Audio USB Analog Audio Gizmo. We engineered it so the power, ground, and data lines between the computer and audio circuitry are all galvanically isolated. A ground loop is simply not possible. It costs more to build it this way, so you won’t see this approach on cheap USB interfaces. But man, it’s worth it! .
