I empower small business owners to build a brand and market it on social media. For podcasts, speaking events, coaching: info@jasminestar.com
Let’s be real: we all have plenty of emails in our inbox, and getting someone to subscribe these days takes more than just saying “Don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter!” People are selective with their time and inbox space, so if you want them to hand over their email, you must offer something they *truly* find valuable. Because even though, yes – inboxes are flooded, your email list is still one of the most powerful tools you have to build relationships and grow your business. Click play now to learn how to brainstorm and test opt-in (AKA freebie or lead magnet) ideas, my five-step framework for creating lead magnets, and how to effectively market them: https://lnkd.in/gxDDVtyF

A little while ago, in the depths of sales dev LinkedIn (or maybe from a podcast? Who knows) - I came across a strategy for leaving voicemails… ➡️ Keep it snappy. ➡️ Don't pitch. ➡️ Direct to an email you've already sent. These were the main takeaways, the full piece is a bit more nuanced. Leave your name and company at the end - it's professional, but keeps an amount of curiosity throughout the VM. ("Hi John, this is someone you've never spoken to from a company you've never heard of" is most people's signal to stop listening I guess..) I've left hundreds of voicemails following this framework. ❌ Not once has anybody ever gone to their inbox, dug out the email, and replied. Thinking about it, this is a big ask of someone you've never spoken to. Especially when considering how delicate most SDRs are taught to be with CTAs… ❌ Nor has it ever impacted any potential conversations further down the line with that person. Every other component of decent outreach has one or more outcomes clearly defined. Voicemails are trickier because it's hard to define the outcome you're seeking. A call back? An answer next time? A reply to your email? A chance to meet? There's definitely a few recipes for success around, but it feels like leaving effective VMs is much less scalable than e.g. writing effective emails. Anybody seen success with any others? #BDR #SDR #SalesDevelopment

Turn strangers into customers | Outbound & Sales Coach, Trainer, and SKO Speaker for B2B sales teams
5 cold call openers to help you nail your intro 👇 My post on this last week got a TON of engagement. I want to make this important point: reps don’t get shut down because of the opener they use. It’s because of their tonality, inflection, and pace. They unintentionally sound like telemarketers. In this video, I wanted to demonstrate how these cold call openers should sound. Two quick pointers on tonality: ✅ Friendly Be incredibly hard to be an *sshole to 🙂 Simple hack: smile during your call (just like you would in person). ✅ No uptalk or “customer service” voice Remove upward inflection, high-pitched tones, and unnecessary formality. You aren’t on the phone with your insurance provider. ============= Check out my post from last week for a transcribed version of these openers: https://lnkd.in/exztgAGF Want more cold calling tips? 📳 Most people hate cold calling. A great way to get over call reluctance is to watch great sales content right before a cold calling session. ⚠️ Just make sure you limit it to ONE video. You don’t want to slip into a YouTube hole as a way to procrastinate. 💵 Remember, your sales success is 100% dependent on a healthy pipeline! The Weirdest Cold Calling Trainer 📞☎️📱 | Putting the FUN back in Cold Calling | ICF Coach | Stoic | 🍍 on 🍕 is a CRIME
𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆. I remembered a not-very-pleasant chat with him 😅 I started making all types of excuses in my head: • "𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺?" • "𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳?" • "𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘳𝘶𝘥𝘦?" Only an Italian can speak so much to themselves. I recently saw a podcast with Hubermann and Goggins. It seems doing things you don't want to do is good for you. So, I told myself to 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹. Turns out: 1. The call we had was not that bad 2. The follow-up was about SDRs underperformance 3. He was keen to review training options on cold calling Meeting booked in 6 minutes. You think your brain is a very rational entity. It's rarely the case: emotions drive us. Often, they trick us for the worst. Silence the negative narrative. And make that bloody call. What's the worst that will happen?
