Sir Should I repeat for CAT and try for better college which i have currently? Tried my best to answer : Yet again...Next Year.... Are you on the threshold where one stands on the double edged sword of, either to go ahead with the preparation or fall back on the other alternatives . But, when one decides to be courageous and perseveres such testing times, one decides to move ahead with his/her preparation till the exam gets cracked or the threshold is reached again! The important thing here to ponder is what keeps the aspirant going? HOPE! The aspirants who choose to embark the coming year with their ongoing preparation, have immense amount of hope. Hope is what that has been with them at the initiation of this journey and it is what they still hold. With hope in heart and determination in action, the dream of IIM doesn’t seem impossible. Just google once and you can find a plethora of such stories of ‘hope’ in the IIM aspirants’ circle. One might succeed this time or one might not, but without being hopeful one loses the chance to witness the equally probable success. And this is the very importance of ‘hope’ and ‘being hopeful’ in an aspirant’s preparation span. Hope doesn’t then remain a merely theoretical fancy expression. It becomes the core of an aspirant’s motivation and the vigour to keep going. Thus, in the recipe for success in this mother of examinations, hope is the foremost and one of the most vital ingredients! Having said that, there can certainly be pitfalls of being utterly hopeful. You might regret a year later that, may be you could’ve switched to your alternative and been doing well by now rather than remaining ‘stuck’ with hope in your heart. But, that is the price of being hopeful. That is what the whole game is about. And, that is why it is the threshold of double-edged sword! Your amount of hope reflects how brave you are to keep walking into the dark tunnel with absolutely no clue about its end. It might be dangerous, one might say, but at the end it’s totally worth it. So, CAT-23 session comes to an end with aspirants who refuse to lose hope, this write up is dedicated especially to you! You all are nothing but the ‘epitome of hope’. Undoubtedly, you’ve went through the roughest of times in the past year/s, you might have also just almost touched your goal but missed it, still you choose to venture ahead with double your efforts. This kind of determination, courage and hope deserves a big appreciation in itself. Because, not everyone has the courage to be hopeful! This doesn’t make the aspirants who chose to opt out of this competitive exam any less. But, the moment right now is to acknowledge and applaud the spirits of such aspirants who chose to be hopeful and appear yet again, despite knowing the ‘cost of being utterly hopeful’. Kudos to your strength and determination! Expertsedge CAT Anthem (Inspired from CASH movie song) https://lnkd.in/dhpqf-ZX #IIMDream, #DreamMBA

*Assessing My Status before Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival* 🙏🏽Hare Krishna Must hear half hour discourse in english and hindi to assess whete we stand in life in this rented house called external body with subtle body of mind intelligence & flase ego inside covering our beautiful eternal pure ATMA: the real self which should be Goal of our life” https://lnkd.in/d46EyYR3 We should always think in the evening, while going to bed - ‘In what stage are we now? Today, have we increased our faith, our service to Krsna or not?’ In business we do it, when you are closing a shop or an office, we should calculate that today have we gained or lost? Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada used to tell that every day in the night when going to bed you should calculate that our bhakti has increased something? Or is it like the same or has it gone down? Daily we should do. If our association is okay, then it will increase. If our association is not good then it will go down. https://lnkd.in/dHxbEEx7 https://lnkd.in/dSYXPRAf

This video captures what has become of "Risk Assessments" in our industry. For those who don't speak Hindi, in the video, the Captain is asking his mate to make a BIG RA all across the ship that is visible to an approaching missile that can then divert itself. Our industry's initial response to what was happening in the war zones where ships had to transit was to make an RA! Risk Assessments have become futile because it is no longer an assessment of the risks but a post facto demonstration of due diligence either after an incident or during an audit. We can show the insurers that the best possible decisions were made. A very fundamental assumption of the RA is the Risk Matrix. In one of their earlier episodes, David Provan and Drew Rae (https://lnkd.in/diwqrB8T) talk about risk matrices. An interesting bit that remains with me is how the matrix should have just two boxes that either say: 1. 'get on with the job' or 2. ' we have to do something about it'
On a lighter note... The RA factor as be all and end all 😊

This is so sad about the actual outcome from RAs, basically it reflects that our industry is willing to only meet regulatory compliance. The support system on the shore side has lost track that RA is part of the process not the solution to the problem. In fact in recent incidents investigation from #DMAIB, it is kind of concluded that the safety management systems have structure issues , inconsistencies and focus on compliance and responsibility only, which made it difficult to put the procedural documents into practical use. #bp #ocimf #marineincidentinvestigation #AMPOL
On a lighter note... The RA factor as be all and end all 😊
