Last week, Sole García Fernández and I proposed creating a point system to make it easier to know what to expect when going to a coliving and give more visibility to those colivings that put extra effort into facilitating community interactions. This was the initial proposal (we will change after the feedback we got) - they do 1 weekly activity -> 1 point - they do 2 weekly activities -> 2 point - they do 3 weekly activities -> 3 points - there is at least a host/community manager -> 2 points - they do family meetings to introduce new people and organize the week together -> 3 points - they have a community room. Not coworking, you can talk freely and not made for eating, there are items to bond (board games, video games) -> 2 points The feedback has blown us away! #productpositivity When developers collaborate and co-design with communities on Commonplace they reduce their risk of planning failure to zero. We’ve never seen a proposal fail planning permission when the developer used Commonplace at an early stage to share ideas, have a conversation and gain support. This is a relatively small development, but imagine how much pain the applicant needs to go through to rework their plans and resubmit. Multiply this up to developments with hundreds of residential units or major train terminals. The cost of failure quickly spirals out of control. The Commonplace product is designed to power positive conversations by reaching a broader audience, encouraging open conversations and building positive sentiment in the community. What a transformation

📈 Access to data, which can be utilized in a way to enable decisions can be a very powerful tool in city planning. 🏙️ Oftentimes, the data is simply lacking. But setting a baseline for a city by geolocating assets is fundamental. 🗺️ Mapping geolocated assets onto residential density or even transit accessibility (as below) can go on to generate actionable insights into how our cities can be improved. 🇬🇧 For example, London leverages PTAL scores (Public Transport Accessibility Levels) to highlight which areas have strong access to public transport. Based on this decisions can be made on optimal areas for further densification. ⚠️ Failure to enable city decision-makers with insightful data simply holds cities back from effectively serving their communities.

I love parkrun - the community, the support, the camaraderie, the consistency and certainty that it is always there. I hope the FRANK Community can offer a similar supportive environment for navigating life. Yes, it is online initially but the intention is it will grow organically through connection and recommendation and face-to-face events will happen in the future where we can show up and meet ourselves where we are at and not compare to where others are on their journeys. I hope FRANK will become a platform for learning and growth, practice and confidence building, exploration and innovation. Where we can face our fears, build resilience, keep accomplishing throughout life, nurture ourselves and each other and find kinship in the community.
