June 28 Update: Thank you all for your comments and questions as we navigate this essential streamlining of our digital properties. We admittedly redirected the website prematurely in the process, hoping that Wayback Machine would be suitable for use as we worked through the migration of more articles. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support for AIGA Eye on Design, and as a result, have redirected access to eyeondesign.aiga.org while we work through additional article migration. Agree. So AIGA moved all the articles out and putting them back in? Y not just leave it alone? it's ok to not grow the site anymore, if it's too taxing.

Good design takes time to show results, just like good medicine. Here's how we helped Uday Desai achieve his vision through visuals & open communication.

On a recent client call, I shared an analogy that resonated with my client, Uday Desai: Good design is like medicine; it takes time to show results. You can't stop the course in between. During our first website presentation, Uday's team approved a design based on their brand colors, but Uday wasn't satisfied. After asking for his vision and some references, we presented a new website the following week. He loved it, with zero feedback or changes. This experience reminded me that as designers, "we have to read the minds of our clients to achieve the perfect design". They may have different expectations in mind and express them differently My advice: If you want to create an image, always show an image and ask, not write in words. It helps you and the client get clarity. How do you guys read your client's mind before designing?

At a recent conference, we were discussing the little things at work that have the biggest impact. One unsurprising answer was well-designed forms. 📑 While I've designed forms in the past, I realize how many services we use that require online forms. So, I've decided to take a course and learn more about this subject. Do any of my fellow designers have any resources on this topic that could be useful?
