Don't read these four books... ⬇︎ 👀 Unless you want to grow, be inspired, and ultimately become a better creative service provider. When was the last time you read a book relevant to your industry? As creatives, we should always be looking to learn and grow. Reading material by other designers who excel in their crafts gives us inspiration, fresh perspectives, and new approaches to our work. Here are some books I’ve been learning from lately: ➡️ Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon ➡️ Show Your Work by Austin Kleon ➡️ MindShift by Erwin Rafael McMarus ➡️ The Creative Act by Rick Rubin Let me know your favorite design books 📖 ⬇︎

Austin Kleon “Steal like an Artist” I just finished reading the book "Steal Like an Artist" by Austin Kleon. What a book that enhances the way of thinking and looking at things differently. A few learnings from this golden book are : - Learn from the best Artists and learn everything about them - Copy, innovate, and make things differently in your way - Learn to copy but not exactly reproduce - No artwork is original. If we think that way, we haven't explored the real art or references so far. - Have hobbies and be creative There's a lot more to acquire from this specially crafted book for designers.

Join us in making academic posters better! This summer, we're collecting Poster Presentations for our Hall of Fame. There aren't enough examples of good posters (with a great story and design) to use as inspiration, this is one of the reasons why most researchers present badly designed posters (they are afraid to do something that's not been done before). We want to change that! We've seen that seeing good examples, leads to good design. So if you've spend hours on an amazing design and would like to be featured (with links back to your LinkedIn profile) in our Hall of Fame, send us your poster design. Don't be shy, and even when you're in doubt, send it over for review. Of course, if you've ever completed a course with us, we would LOVE to see your final design. Contact us via DM, or info@theonlinescientist.com #posterdesign #posters #conference #sciencecommunication
