On Saturday, I was privileged to attend the young wigs conference put together by Inemesit D. I would say it was very insightful, and beyond my expectations. Themed "Fusion", it was an opportunity to gain knowledge not only from lawyers, but also from tech and business experts. It was also an opportunity to bond with my coursemates and seniors. I also met with law students from other schools. Some of my key takeaways from the conference include: 1. Finding a community is very important in one's journey. 2. Always show up, and be teachable. 3. Having an accessible mentor is key to achieving one's goals. 4. Technology is a tool to make processes easier. If it does not make the process easier, it has not been applied properly. The aim of tech is not to take away the job opportunities lawyers have, but to make their processes easier. 5. One should have clear goals. As time goes on, you might have to change somethings, but ensure to have them written down. 6. Be intentional about everything, and make excellence a habit. 7. Dream big. "If your dream is easy to achieve, then it is not big enough". I would always remain grateful for the opportunity to attend this conference.
