Already 30 years ago, at the beginning of 1994, started the serious preparatory work towards the documentary movie about the development of the junior tennis players in the direction of the professional tennis. The main result was a tennis documentary "A Tennis Champion Is Born", which can be seen by clicking at the link below: https://lnkd.in/gh-Gjw5w Most of the principles presented keep their validity until today. Interestingly, one of the juniors shown in the movie later became world Nr.1 and an other Nr.2!

The Credo-Driven player and coach - operate with a 'Code of Behaviour' We are not purely coaching players to become great tennis players but also to build moral character for life. Over the vast experience of Jim's coaching and research career, it has been highlighted that mentally, physically and morally healthy tennis players outperform their opponents. He advocates the hidden scorecard for a 'noble path' of competing on court and in life. "Treat others in the same way you would like to be treated - The Golden Rule" Players will thrive if they: 🔹 Always give their best effort from the first until the last point 🔹 Display a positive and hopeful attitude - no matter what the score 🔹 Always have an outstanding positive inner voice - 'Inner Coach' 🔹 Always treat opponents with respect, honesty and acknowledgment of their good performances. It means no gamesmanship, no cheating, no deliberate delaying, no sledging, no excuses, no abuse of equipment or officials. These ethical guidelines have produced sustainable results in the history of sport, the military and across societies. #WTC4 #respect #honesty #character

Tennis coach/educator - Creator of Dynamic Total Body Tennis (DTBT) - fully scalable training system towards TENNIS 3.0
Producing the educational tennis documentary "A Tennis Champion Is Born" was for me, back then in my late 20's, quite a monumental work with a huge time and financial costs. Thanks to a very reasonable Swiss banker Hans Jäger in my then hometown of Leukerbad, I was able to go with my bank account into a 5 digits minus and was so able to finance my part of the movie production costs, despite partly reduced income while being more away from my income bringing daily tennis work... From the beginning on, the entire project was a co-production with the Czech TV, made possible by its back then chief producer, and a big fan of tennis, Jiří Balvin who also brought in a genius documentary movie maker Pavel Štingl as a movie director. It's hard to believe that the entire project, while being saved in the last minute, was based on a "handshake agreement" over the phone between me and Jiří Balvin, with the complex agreement being put to the paper after the initial 2 weeks of the movie shootings in the USA. In the end, our work produced 4 documents, besides "Champion" in English, it was its Czech TV version "Tenisové krůčky ke smečum" ("Little tennis steps to the smashes"), "Vikend s Champions Tour" ("Weekend with the Champions Tour"), and a documentary about our visit in the Florida's DisneyWorld. Obviously, I have never made any financial profit on the movie, it was mainly a huge philanthropy from my side, but observing the reactions of the tennis community after the release of documentary was priceless. One of the leading figures of the Czech tennis meant: "I have expected something much better" , and one of the bosses from a major tennis association saw the movie as being not good: "..because it gave too much space to the private academies and not enough space to the national tennis associations.." Needless the say, most of the principles presented in the documentary are keeping their validity until today.. A 12-years old who I am showing there later became the ATP Nr.1, and a 16-years old, playing a significant part in the movie, later became ATP Nr.2.., both largely developed by the private coaches/academies. You can see yourself how bad this educational documentary really was.., and how helpful it might have been to the tennis world. It was officially presented in a break between the seminars during the ITF Coaches Workshop in Barcelona in the end of 1995, but I was not there. Czech Tennis Association didn't want to give me one of their 3 or 4 spaces for the Workshop, and the ITF didn't se it possible to let me come in as an independent participant. My offer to donate 200 tapes (one for each member nation) with the movie to the ITF was declined by the GM. And, just by the way, the documentary was aired over 40 times Europewide on back then quite significant pan-European sports channel DSF (Deutsches Sports Fernsehen - German Sports TV - of the late Kirch Group). Unfortunately, they paid me for the unlimited license a rather low one-time fee..

Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Toss & Spin (Tennis & Pickleball Events) 2023 BizBash Sports Power Player Award
Brands are doing more tennis activations for several reasons: 1. Global Audience and Demographics: Tennis has a large, diverse, and global fan base that spans various age groups and socioeconomic classes. This wide appeal allows brands to reach a broad audience. 2. New Product Innovation: For so long brands only thought that 4 players could only be on court at once. Now with things like Cardio Tennis, Liveball, and other programming, you can fit 15-20 people on one court. This increases on-site brand reach like never before. 3. Engagement Opportunities: Tennis activations offer various engagement opportunities, including on-site experiences, digital campaigns, and social media interactions, allowing brands to create immersive and interactive marketing strategies. Pairing on court with digital strategies creates a very unique reach for brands and products. Again, this is an amazing example from Free People & PlayYourCourt on a best in class way to do this.
