Yesterday as the Premier Distributor for Genesi UK and Ireland we were visited at our Honiton site by Barbara Ventura and Simone Cornali CEO of Genesi to discuss new product innovation, stock holding and the appointment of Sub Distributors.
Having already supplied numerous Genesi products onto high profile sites around the UK and Ireland as the only truly fit for purpose solution, we are keen to ensure that this momentum is maintained with not only the existing range but also in relation to new products to be launched. The Genesi davit systems do truly offer the only real fit for purpose solution that we have seen in the market place in the way they combine primary and secondary devices for entry with a truly useable mounting position. We currently hold the majority of the Genesi range in stock for Hire and Sales and also have demonstration products that we can make specific visits with if required. We will also in the next few weeks be installing Genesi davit sockets onto our Test and Training Tower so we demonstrate actual benefits over other products. Abstract:
In one of our profession's most consequential DA/DQ projects, SmithKline Beecham (SB--prior to its acquisition by Glaxo) retooled its decision processes, reallocated resources across its 20 late-stage development projects in four therapeutic areas on two continents, and shifted significantly more resource into R&D. Shareholder value added of better decision-making, compared to the decisions that would have been made otherwise, was more than a billion dollars. Focusing on the soft issues (like building credibility and trust} and introducing new methodology (like considering project alternatives at the portfolio level) enabled SB to more effectively address the hard ones -- how much and where to invest. The subsequent Harvard Business Review (HBR) article became one of HBR's most widely distributed. Widespread adoption and adaptation of the approach in pharmaceutical, energy, and other industries ultimately led to downstream value creation in dozens of major companies and job creation for decision professionals. #SDG

I love my FMOs.
The principals of the FMOs are some of my closest friends in this business. They have taught me so much about this business, over the past 25 years.
That said- apparently my recent post about FMOs doing due diligence on carriers has struck a chord.
Several marketing groups reached-out to me, suggesting that carrier due diligence is not their responsibility.
Some suggested that using AM Best ratings was the best due diligence that they could perform.
The general response was that the agent drives which carriers and products are on the agency's platform.
What do you think? Who is responsible for carrier due diligence, if anyone?
