Working for a company focused on materials management and sustainability -- I have become so much more personally aware of all the 'stuff' we generate as humans that needs to be handled. Little plastic pieces are part of everything and it's amazing to take note of that when you pay attention. I love company partnerships that are designed to do better. I applaud those who are joining hands and figuring out a better way. #sustainabilitymatters #fashionindustry #innovativedesign https://lnkd.in/eryyivvX

#InTheNews | From Clothes to Cars: Is Plastic Polluting Everything? Earth Day Calls for Action. «Other major applications of plastics include building and construction, transportation as well as textiles, with the fast fashion industry particularly guilty of adding to the world’s plastic footprint. “The fast fashion industry annually produces over 100 billion garments,” the Earth Day organizers write. “Overproduction and overconsumption have transformed the industry, leading to the disposability of fashion. People now buy 60 percent more clothing than 15 years ago, but each item is kept for only half as long.”» #EarthDay2024 #BeatPlasticPollution #PackagingProblem #SustainablePackaging #FastFashionFootprint #EndTextileWaste #CircularEconomy #ReuseRevolution #MillionTonThreat #EarthDayAction #OneEarth via Statista https://lnkd.in/dph4WD43

As we move into the New Year, the urgency of packaging sustainability is even more urgent - in just six years, all plastic consumer product packaging is required to be 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable. A brand refresh now holds the dual responsibility of not only capturing attention and enhancing value but also aligning with sustainability practices to meet environmental standards. #SustainablePackaging #2030CPG #BrandRefresh #GreenDesign https://lnkd.in/gdjV-tZJ

Circularity needs to turn words into action ♻️ As revealed in the Circularity Gap Report 2024, despite the number of discussions, debates, and articles surrounding the #circulareconomy nearly tripling over the past five years, the global circularity rate has regrettably fallen from 9.1% to 7.2% in the same period. This downward trend in circularity underscores the urgency for transformative action. At Davines Group | Certified B Corp, we're committed to rethinking our actions, moving beyond the traditional "take, make, dispose" mindset. For long time now, we have been striving to minimize our use of materials as much as possible, and when that’s not possible, we aim to reuse them or, finally, recycle them. I am very proud to highlight some achievements from our latest Sustainability Report: ✅ 779 tons of plastic collected in 2022: equal to 100% of the quantity of plastic from sold products ✅ 64.1% recycled, bio-based, and mass-balance plastic packaging ✅ 903.3 tons of fossil-based virgin plastic avoided from 2014 to 2022 We firmly believe that by prioritizing circularity and using businesses as a force for good, we, all, can play a pivotal role in preserving our planet for future generations. Let's turn words into action and drive positive change together 💚 #DavinesGoodLifeForAll #BCorp #SustainableBeauty #davinesgrouppeople Davide Bollati; Anthony Molet; Mark Giannandrea; Arnaud Goullin; Stefano Benetti; Andrea Mussi; M.
