Opportunity to get involved! The MASTT2040 project is holding a physical Roadmapping Workshop on "Pathways towards the future of Manufacturing-as-a-Service in 2040". This will be held in Brussels on 26th February 2025 between 10am-5pm. Building on existing policy and strategy work, as well as previous activities undertaken in the MASTT2040 project, the MASTT2040 consortium is implementing two roadmapping workshops. In the first workshop on the 26th February 2025, we will develop a number of concrete pathways for a more competitive, resilient and green European manufacturing industry by 2040. During this interactive workshop, four roadmaps will be drafted based on future visions of manufacturing that will identify barriers and priority actions that need to be addressed which will be used to inform industry, research, standardisation and policy strategies. In particular we will focus on the role Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS) can play to arrive at promising visions for the future of European manufacturing in 2040. Aspects that we are interested in are digitisation, automation, services, human centric aspects, sustainability, circular approaches and resilience in the supply chain. The results of this workshop will be used in a second workshop to further concretize high-priority actions and formulate recommendations towards industry & policy on how to successfully realise the most impactful future visions for MaaS in European industry. The machinery industry is quickly moving towards a digital future. By 2030, software and integrated solutions in this sector will be a $400 billion market, making up a larger share of the industry's profits. ✅ Most advanced manufacturing leaders say that adopting new technologies like artificial intelligence is a top priority for research and development. No machinery company can create digital solutions for every industry on its own. 🌐 This digital shift is also making machinery companies rethink how they produce goods. They need to make supply chains more resilient and sustainable, with circular material models helping in this effort.
