🙄 Confronted with the inevitable "Tell me about yourself."? 🙄 Most candidates take this as an invitation to recite their resume, but that's not what interviewers are looking for. To really shine, consider a three-step approach: summarize your work history, highlight a relevant project, and discuss the results. For instance, as an email marketing manager, you could discuss how you successfully grew an email list by 132%. This approach effectively showcases your value, making you a memorable candidate. #InterviewTips and #CareerAdvice

I recently learned that recruiters and hiring managers often prefer one-page resumes. So, I reworked the formatting and streamlined the bullet points on my resume. What do you think? Would you rather see a full description of each job’s responsibilities regardless of the length or just the key points with more details saved for the interview? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Resume Tip of the Day: Less is more. Yes, that is the tip for today. For leadership resumes, filling up 5 to 6 pages would only confuse the recruiter, and force him to scroll through it and close the file within a few seconds. Make it interesting by mentioning only the most important parts of your career. Max 2 pages. That's about it. Save something to talk about during your interview. #resumetips #resumewriter #talentbea #leadershipresumes

Friday fun fact: Did you know that 76% of resumes with unprofessional email addresses are rejected based on the email address alone? So, if your email address is something like "partybigdude@xyz.com," it's time to switch to something more professional. Or better yet, create a separate email address dedicated solely to your job search activities to avoid missing out on that crucial interview invitation. #jobsearching #fridayfunfact

Hey friends! Just a quick tip—don't include your references with your resume. Here’s why: your reference’s phone numbers can get mixed up in Applicant Tracking Systems with your own number. Instead, create a separate reference page and share it during the interview process. This can really help you stand out and push you to the next step. Some numbers: 107 resumes sent off in September. 93 of those resumes sent off more than 4 weeks ago. 61 organizations have ghosted me. 47 submission processes with form errors (form couldn't be completed had to find another method of submission). 41 robo-rejections. 14 resume submissions still "in process". 4 emails sent by humans with rejections. 1 phone screening. 0 follow-ups. 0 interviews. 0 idea why it is this difficult or worse for others to find work.
