🚀 The pharmaceutical and life sciences industry is facing a 35% talent deficit by 2030. Traditional recruitment methods aren't keeping up with rapid sector growth. In Pharmaceutical Executive, YUPRO Placement’s CEO Michelle D. Sims shares three innovative strategies to close this gap: 🔹 Embrace Skills-Based Hiring: Prioritize skills and competencies over degrees for a #diverse and #innovative workforce. 🔹 Hire from Outside the Industry: Seek candidates with transferable skills for non-clinical roles, bringing fresh perspectives. 🔹 Utilize Apprenticeships: Develop structured programs to create a tailored talent pipeline, enhancing retention and career growth. Building Bridges, Crafting Futures: Harmony of Pharma Companies & Pharmacy Education 🎓💊🧬 The pathway that spans from academic learning to industry application in the pharmaceutical world should not simply end with a ceremonial handshake at graduation, or be punctuated by a brief, one-month internship. Instead, it should be an enriching journey crafted through strategic collaboration between industry giants and academia. Imagine a syllabus infused with real-world knowledge directly from the experts who are at the forefront of groundbreaking work. Pharmaceutical companies have the capacity to not only host internships but to deliver lectures, provide case studies, and share current R&D strides, thereby deeply enhancing the learning experience. 💡 Yet, engagement is a two-way street. Students must cultivate a sense of curiosity. They should actively seek mentorship from industry professionals, aspiring to understand the day-to-day realities and innovations that define the sector. This curiosity, when met with opportunities to interact with industry experts, can ignite passion and clarify career aspirations early on. 🔍 Feedback from such engagement could be pivotal; pharma companies could identify emerging talents, tailor their guidance, and potentially scout future leaders while educators can refine curriculum to match the nuanced needs of an ever-evolving industry. 📈 It's also crucial for students to develop a personal development plan right from their college days and not wait until they enter industry. Such a plan ensures that from the echoing halls of a university to the bustling labs and offices of pharmaceutical companies, students are not aimlessly wandering but are journeying with precision towards their chosen career destinations. Together, academia and the pharma industry can cultivate a well-prepared workforce ready to take on the challenges of modern healthcare and improve patient outcomes worldwide. Let’s commit to these partnerships and watch as the coming generation of pharmacy professionals flourish, equipped not just with knowledge, but with experience and passion tailored for an impactful career. #PharmaceuticalIndustry #PharmacyEducation #Collaboration #CareerDevelopment #Innovation #healthcare #shapingfuture

Founder@STUDENT BRAND🔶️International Business@Mankind🔶️CRC@ICRS, Ex-Arbro Pharma🔶️Gold Medalist🏅@ B.Pharm🔶️Public Speaker🔶️Helping Jobseekers🔶️Marketing Expert🔶️Business Coach🔶️Healthcare Management🔶️
This ability helped me to get into MANKIND PHARMA LTD, Arbro Pharmaceuticals Private Ltd. and Imperial Clinical Research Services. And that is the ability to say what others want to listen to and the ability to mould your answers. Take for example, while I was interviewing at MANKIND PHARMA LTD. for the position of Management Trainee in International Business, I structured my introduction and other answers that would revolve around Product and Brand Management, Preparing Medical & Marketing Strategy to position our Product only. For example, How I Conducted extensive market research and business case analysis for Portfolio extension. Product brand management, research for business expansion in new countries and product launch. And if you talk about my interview at Imperial Clinical Research Services for the Position of Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), I didn't talk much about my internship at Arbro Pharmaceuticals Private Ltd. Rather, I focused more on discussing how Clinical Trials are Conducted, its different Phases, PV guidelines, Understanding of Drug Development Process, Drug Safety, Adverse Event Reporting and ICH - GCP guidelines. I followed the same during my Arbro Pharmaceuticals Private Ltd. The point is, why would the Interviewer who is interviewing me for the Management Trainee profile be interested in my Analytical and clinical Research skills? I mean it's good to have those as well, but the first thing he will look for, is my Marketing & Business Expansion skills, right? Now this does not certainly mean that you should have past internship experience in that field, but it's about your ability to mould your past experiences along that profile and present. Learn the skill of moulding! It will be helpful in the long run. It seems too technical, but it's quite doable if you know what exactly you did in your past few years. Hope this will be helpful. All the best! 💯 If you like this content, ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Akhil Choudhary✨️ 🧠 for more such insights. #placements2024 #beavailable #careers #internships #helpingjobseekers #growthmindset #placementassistance #getstartedtoday #success #jobs #jobopportunities #interviewprep #softskillstraining

Ever dreamt of making a difference in the world, with cutting-edge science at your fingertips? The pharmaceutical industry beckons, but let's be honest, the job market can feel like a crowded petri dish. Here's the lowdown on navigating this dynamic field: 📌 The Reality: The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 18% job growth in pharmaceuticals by 2030 – impressive, but competition is fierce. Entry points can feel limited, especially for research roles. Your Strategy: 📌 Sharpen your niche: Don't be a generalist. Dive deep into a specific area – drug discovery, clinical trials, medical affairs – and become an expert. 📌 Network like a pro: Attend industry events, connect online, and leverage alumni ties. Building genuine relationships unlocks hidden opportunities. 📌 Get hands-on: Internships, volunteer work, research projects – any relevant experience sets you apart. Showcase your skills and impact with a portfolio. 📌 Upskill constantly: The pharma landscape evolves rapidly. Pursue certifications, online courses, and workshops. Demonstrate your commitment to continuous learning. 📌 Tailor your resume: Ditch the generic approach. Highlight relevant skills and achievements that directly address each job description. Quantify your impact whenever possible. Remember, the competition is keen, but so are you! By strategically positioning yourself, building your network, and showcasing your unique value, you can unlock exciting opportunities in this rewarding field. Now go forth, young scientist, and make your mark on the world!

Retd Deputy Director, Pharmacy, Ministry of HFW, Karnataka, India.and Frmr Registrar, Karnataka State Pharmacy Council,
Syllabus & Beyond... Pharmacy students should learn MuchMore than the syllabus. Invite ResourcePersons from lateral technoligies including HealthCare, Judiciary & Audit and Ofcourse, library scanning being obvious. Pramit Dey : "I can't agree more, sir. As someone who is working in pharma R&D, there is a huge gap in the syllabus we are taught and what we have to apply. We all literally have to start from zero in the industry. Syllabus should also include management principles and regulatory knowledge regardless of specialisation". Me: Pramit Dey, True sir. This is true from a simple Chemist shop to R&D.

Yesterday evening, I spoke to one of the students from one of the NIPERs NIPER = National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research The student wanted to do an internship, was looking for desk job opportunities and not research-related opportunities! I suggested to him to explore research-based jobs. He did not appear so much convinced about this idea 🤔 This is a major trend in most colleges. The toppers and good students are looking only for dry lab jobs. Why do students even from research organizations want dry labs? Why are they not interested in joining research organizations? What can we do about it? 💬💭 I would love to know your experience and thoughts on this. #CareerChoices #StudentLife #Pharmacy #manojinpharm

I had the privilege of delivering a talk during the Orientation Day at my University, for the new pharmacy students. It was an inspiring moment to stand before the future pharmacists and share some insights into what they need to focus on during their academic journey. I emphasized the importance of: 🔸 Mastering Core Knowledge: A deep understanding of pharmaceutical sciences is essential. Always stay curious and never hesitate to ask questions. 🔸 Practical Experience: Engage in internships, workshops, and hands-on practice. The real world is different from the classroom, and the more you expose yourself to real-life pharmacy practice, the better. 🔸 Soft Skills: Communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are critical. The healthcare field requires pharmacists to collaborate with different healthcare professionals to provide the best care. 🔸 Stay Updated with Industry Trends: The pharmaceutical field is rapidly evolving. Be open to learning about new technologies, treatments, and regulations that will shape the future of pharmacy. 🔸 Build a Network: Start connecting with peers, professors, and professionals in the industry. Your network will be one of your most valuable resources after graduation. I'm excited to see how these bright minds will shape the future of pharmacy. 💊💡 #Pharmacy #DerayaUniversity #PharmaceuticalScience #Austraila #intern
