Exciting news for Kazakhstan’s aviation industry! Air Astana continues its impressive expansion, adding another brand-new Airbus A320neo to its growing fleet. With 58 aircraft now in operation, Air Astana remains the largest airline in Central Asia, not only in terms of fleet size but also in service quality and operational excellence. Looking ahead, Air Astana is set to acquire Boeing 787 Dreamliners—an eagerly awaited milestone that will significantly enhance connectivity between Europe and Asia. This expansion is not just about fleet growth; it represents a major step forward for Kazakhstan’s tourism industry, reinforcing the country's role as a bridge between continents. Through its Ab-Initio pilot training program, the airline sends around 50 aspiring pilots each year to top training academies in Ireland, Finland, and Spain, ensuring a steady pipeline of highly skilled professionals. Second A320neo for Air Astana Group in two weeks 🇰🇿 As part of the strategy to expand its route network, improve operational efficiency and sustainable growth, Kazakhstan's flag carrier Air Astana has leased another new Airbus A320neo. Given recent delivery of a similar aircraft to its budget subsidiary FlyArystan, the group's total fleet now stands at 58 aircraft, mostly made of Airbus narrowbodies. Factory-fresh aircraft (MSN 12360) arrived in Almaty today, January 29, directly from Toulouse, France. The aircraft, registered EI-KID, is on a long-term lease from Avolon. The PW1127G-powered aircraft has a two-class layout: 16 seats in business and 132 in economy. The new Airbus will operate on routes across Kazakhstan as well as in broader Central Asia / Caspian / Caucasus region, serving cities such as Tashkent, Baku, Tbilisi, Dushanbe and others. Starting June 1, 2025, Air Astana will operate three weekly flights between Almaty International Airport (ALA) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA) using Airbus A321LR aircraft. Flights are scheduled to depart Almaty at 01:30, arriving in Frankfurt at 06:55, and return from Frankfurt at 08:30, landing in Almaty at 18:55. This new route complements existing services to Frankfurt from Astana and Uralsk, enhancing connectivity between Kazakhstan and Germany. Thai VietJet Air Enhances Fleet with Wet-Leased Airbus A320-200s for Lunar New Year - Thai VietJet Air has expanded its fleet capacity for the Lunar New Year holiday season by wet-leasing two Airbus A320-200 aircraft from Avion Express, a leading Lithuanian ACMI provider. Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air to Launch Tashkent-Colombo Flights from December 15 Centrum Air, a leading airline from Uzbekistan, has revised its launch date for flights to Sri Lanka. The Tashkent-Colombo route, originally scheduled to commence on 17th November 2024, is now set to begin operations on 15th December 2024. This weekly service, operated on Sundays, will feature the state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft.
