PEOPLE | AFGSC Women’s Leadership Symposium
The 2023 Women’s Leadership Symposium is this week, July 25th-27th! The theme is to BE BOLD, and will feature panels, discussions, and speakers—including CMSAF JoAnne S. Bass—working towards building equity across the command.
Hello Strikers, coming to you live from Barksdale Air Force Base talking to you about our 4th Annual Women's Leadership Symposium coming up at the end of July. Want you all to know that it's a phenomenal event. Let's plan. This year's theme is to be bold and that's the nature of our DNA here in Global Strike Command. So looking forward to you all showing up or dialing in for this outstanding event. Hey Strikers, is Chief Smith here? I'm extremely excited about the women Leadership symposium that's about to kick off I have with me. Cameron Amari, Chief Anderson and Captain Blanton. And we're here to just say welcome if you're coming in, if you're traveling in in person from across the command or even if you're streaming in from your watch party. Thank you for being here. We have a lot to discuss. We have some outstanding guest speakers. We're going to have some dynamic panels as well as conversations about what it means to be a female leader as you continue to accomplish your duties as well as continue. Stretch and advanced leadership opportunities that you have so we can provide some equity in the things that we do, the things that we're going to do. I'm asking you to come with questions, come with suggestions and things that we're going to work on together together. Because the theme here is to be bold. And in being bold, we want to make sure women leadership's imposing clothes out with a bold action plan. So Speaking of Bebo, I asked my team members here what? Cabo mean to them, I will tell you, a mentor told me Bebo meaning to own your AOR own your space. Do not let a job define you. You define the role you're in and make it the best role that you've ever done. Make sure that you leave it better than you found it. And I asked Amari the same thing. What does people mean to you? Yes, Chief. Being built to me means being able to challenge the status quo, being able to have challenging conversations and create this conversations. Ma'am, what does it mean to you? Being bold means having accountability and feedback. Self accountability first and foremost, and then being able to give feedback to others, but only that situation. Chief, it means breaking down doors, being present for your people. We got a defender in the house again. I look forward to seeing you for Women Leadership Symposium. I'll see you there.
🚀 Aim High, Airmen!
Celebrations for our Command’s 15th anniversary continue with recognizing that October is full of many historical events for our Command, such as: Gen. Curtis E. LeMay becoming commander of Strategic Air Command (SAC) in 1948, the 1951 flight of Col. Michael McCoy delivering the first combat ready B-47B to SAC, the SM-65D Atlas going on alert at Vandenberg Space Force Base in 1959, and 1962 saw the first 10 Minuteman I ICBMs going on alert at Malmstrom Air Force Base.
Thank you to the Airmen, Guardians, and loved ones of #StrikerNation who make our mission possible by being ALWAYS ready to provide long-range precision strike… Anytime and anywhere! We are proud to celebrate the Airmen of Striker Nation who are innovative leaders that provide safe, secure, and lethal combat-ready forces for nuclear and conventional global strike… Today and tomorrow!
