This just in - our Information Directorate in Rome, New York received an important update with the addition of a new electronics printer for creating circuit boards and 3D structures! 🖨️ This capability expands on AFRL's ability to not only aid in prototyping of circuit boards and computational systems - but do so so rapidly. 💪⚙️ #AFResearchLab | #TechTuesday | #AFRLTech | #3DPrinting

For Engineering Week 2024, we honor the iconic Gervais Street Bridge in Columbia, SC (the headquarters of Correlated Solutions for 25 years). Optical measurement technologies like Digital Image Correlation help bridge the gap between modeling and testing in additive manufacturing, and Correlated Solutions is excited to provide the tools for young researchers to push engineering into the future. Test Details: We printed an open spandrel arch in PLA using an FDM printer. Speckles (0.007”) were applied with the VIC Speckle Pattern Application Kit. We mounted the model in an MTS Systems Corporation Test Frame to conduct a compression test, and used a pair of FLIR Systems Oryx 8.9 MP cameras. These cameras have a resolution of 4096 px x 2160 px. This is ideal for a test piece with a longer aspect ratio. Calibration was achieved with new, high resolution, laser-marked targets manufactured by Correlated Solutions. DIC analysis was performed in VIC-3D and relevant plots and extractions exported using the iris data visualization engine. Happy Engineering Week 2024! Welcome to the Future! Cool project our our local iconic Gervais Street Bridge using Digital Image Correlation (DIC)! It also (since this is something I deal with day in and day out) demonstrates how a carefully selected hardware configuration can increase the quality of our DIC data. When working with customers to select configurations and camera selections to best fit their test applications, camera resolution comes up a lot. Camera selection is very application specific. High resolution cameras don't always increase the DIC data quality, but this is a great project that demonstrates an instance that the newer higher resolution cameras will provide better data. The challenge here is that a 5MP (2448 x 2048) camera selection might not have enough pixels across the thin surfaces to show the local strain gradient as well as we see here. The long aspect ratio of this 8.9 MP (4096 x 2160) resolution camera selection is a great choice for the long aspect ratio test sample and it allows for almost double the amount of pixels across the thin surfaces, showing excellent localized strain mapping across the small features of this sample.

Good Morning Frnzzz, Its a small science project demonstrated to schools, at grade 8th standard. To learn the concepts of Equilateral Triangle. This is a 3D-Printed Lighthouse and two boats has been printed by our "GT-300" Printer. The other side is a simulation of it, with color coating and LED light have been installed to show the signal to the boat. #3dprinting #gridartechnologies

From prototyping to proof of concept! Heres the first version of the wave lamp. With some further fine tuning I hope to get clear reproducable waves in the LED string. Will be redesigning the 3D printed base and linear motion mechanism so it doesn’t just fall apart when spinning. Once the physical hardware is stable I will be explanding the software control to save frequencies. #3dprinting #softwaredevelopment #embeddedsystems #waveenergy

Energetic, empathetic sales professional, leader, friend, and colleague whose passionate about all things 3D Printing | Dogs | Innovation
As im building this post up I keep singing the song "I can see clearly now the rain has gone", in my head, but instead changed the lyrics to "I can see clearly now the yellowing is gone"...lol. All jokes aside it's pretty crystal Formlabs does Clear printing well already but with the recent addition of the Form 4 and reformulation of our existing Clear (and 5 other GP resins) we've really raised the bar on performance and lowered the price. With the reformulation to Clear v5 you'll see improvements like more "truly clear" prints, as opposed to "yellowish clear". The resin will have a higher green(uncured) strength in printer to capture your fine features and allow for decreased warping in post cure process. The Form 4 really is an incredible product, and is my favorite resin printer to date from Formlabs. It has so many improvements that make printing, easier, faster, more reliable, and efficient. Yesterday alone, I got 3 different builds done all before the end of the day- post processed and all..insane! What kind of parts do you want to see next from the new printer? #formlabs #form4resinprinter #sla #3dprinting #crystalclear
We reformulated all of our most popular materials for the Formlabs Form 4. Clear V5 is pretty special. It has better optical clarity, it is way tougher, and it prints three times as fast as our prior version. And it’s 33% cheaper. That is a ton of value for customers. #3dprinting #additivemanufacturing #innovation #clearisclear
