This is sneaky: stick with the explanation or the deviousness might pass you by. AirAsia Move is the new name for AirAsia's "superapp" and it includes AirAsia's car booking service in the style of Uber, Grab and many others. Here Grab is the elephant in the industry but AirAsia is my preferred service. The front page of AirAsia Move's website has a Title tag. This tag is used for attracting the attention of search engines and it's what appears in the tab at the top of most browsers. Most browsers truncate that title to display it in the tab. In this case, it displays only the first four words of the title. The title is "Grab your ride anywhere at anytime. Book a ride now | airasia ride" And if I have many tabs open, perhaps only the first word appears. airasia MOVE 2023 summary: 2.3B points redeemed, membership up

How close can you go to the competition and win over their customers? 🤫 Companies like McDonald's and Burger King have always participated in such interesting rivalries, giving us so much to ponder upon. But as an airline, can we do that? 🤔 With that exact thought, back when I was at AirAsia, we came up with a unique idea to target frequent travellers from competitors in the routes that AirAsia operates. 🛫 We decided to leverage the then new 24 Screen Arcade at Terminal 3 boarding gates at Delhi airport. But the challenge was to reach the relevant audience at the right time. To do so, we displayed contextual messaging integrated with Flight Information Display System at Delhi Airport, where potential/relevant passengers sit and wait for their flight with us and the competition. We played city-specific messages for guests by picking up the data from the Flight Information Display System (FIDS). For example, if there was a flight to Bagdogra was at Gate 25 at 2:05 PM, a real-time, Bagdogra-specific message like ‘Have a nice flight to Bagdogra, we miss you on board with us’ is displayed while also reinforcing our No.1 On-time performance to the relevant audience. This created wonders as we won over the competition customers, telling them that we’ll be waiting for them to travel with us next time. Using Digital Out Of House (DOOH) advertising, we could change the message anytime, according to the flights and the place, creating an impact like no other. 🦾 The fun you get as a marketeer when you go close to the competition and talk about your product is impeccable! 😄 PS: In the video you can see how we delivered the message! Kindness and beauty all around, Malaysia ku! One day, R, a security personnel at RedQ = AirAsia HQ. Few weeks ago, on a Friday, he stopped my car as I was entering the office. A lot went thru my head as one really do not want to mess with airport or airline security. Naturally, I was stunned. I got self conscious replaying in my head "Alamak, what did I do wrong?" many many many times. But I thought, there is nothing unusual about my morning. But R went to say: "I see you every morning. You're such a blessing because you're always smiling." 😭 I was not expecting that, I bawled. Little that he knows, his words are my blessing on an indeed blessed Friday. I had a tough week then, it felt like the burden was removed with very few sentences. R and I were friends ever since. Diversity-and-inclusion is well and alive at AirAsia. But I guess it is also such a Malaysian thing. Everyone is just so kind to each other and simple gesture goes a long, long way.
