🚀 During last week’s EIE CONGRESS, among the different subjects that were discussed, one stood out to us given it’s significance in our area of expertise, #thermalcontrol and #structuralmanagement: That topic being #HumanSpaceflight. ⚠️ #Security, #Reliability and #Performance are always extremely important within the #SpaceIndustry, both because of the extreme conditions spacecrafts are subjected to and the difficulty of access to the system once it’s out of the atmosphere. 👩🚀 With crewed spacecraft quickly becoming more and more accessible, and as the present of civilians on board of them increases, it is more important than ever before to ensure safety and optimized conditions on every flight. You know about Merlin the wizard on King Arthur court. What about Space X Merlin? As of 5 June 2024, SpaceX has successfully landed ***Falcon 9 boosters*** 301 times. Individual boosters have flown as many as 21 flights. With more than 5 million pounds of thrust at liftoff, Falcon Heavy is one of the most capable rockets flying. 1.7 million pounds of thrust at sea level. A fully expendable Falcon Heavy is in the super heavy-lift category with a maximum payload of 64 t (141,000 lb) to low Earth orbit. Falcon 9's first stage incorporates nine Merlin engines.
