I am feeling energized after a summer break with family and friends and while we cheered for Sweden at the Paris Olympics, seeing the global broadcasts also got me thinking about the critical job that Ericsson does to bring such large-scale events closer to people. A few days away also gave me time to reflect on some of the key highlights from the first half of the year – · Earlier this year, we celebrated our #5GCore leadership, recognized in the Frost Radar™ 5G Network Infrastructure Market 2024 Report by research and analyst firm Frost & Sullivan, where Ericsson was ranked Leader for the fourth consecutive year! · Our AI intent-based operations approach won the ‘AIOps Award for best operations solution incorporating AI functionality’ with Digital Nasional Berhad at FutureNet World and with Mobily at FutureNet MENA · More recently, Ericsson’s AI-based #rApps were awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2024 in the ‘Interaction, UI and User Experience’ category for empowering telco engineers with better user experience! · In fact, as part of our $14 billion deal, AT&T is exploring the possibility of integrating third-party rApps into their 5G network infrastructure in areas like energy usage, dynamic spectrum sharing and AI. · Ookla recognized our customer Odido Nederland as the fastest mobile network in the Netherlands after it switched to 3.5 GHz frequencies. This is a great recognition even as we continue to modernize the Odido network, including reforming legacy telecom IT systems with Ercisson’s catalog-driven Service Order Management platform. · Earlier in the year, our OSS/BSS team joined the T-Mobile Innovation Day in Seattle to showcase among other things, how #GenAI can deliver real-time network insights for advanced troubleshooting. · We followed this up at the DTW - Ignite 2024 in Copenhagen, where we participated in panel discussions, showcased some of our leading use cases, and how we are working with ecosystem partners like Vonage, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google. · Looking ahead – we will have the Ericsson OSS/BSS Summit, hosted by the Orange Group to be held in Paris, October 22-23 where we will talk about transforming customer experience through ecosystem innovation. This news from MWC 2024 is not surprising. It's just an internal affair. As of March 31, 2022, NTT owned 22.81% of NEC's shares. So, it's not special that NTT and NEC have a long-standing business relationship in mobile technologies development including O-RAN. In terms of technology in the O-RAN field, NTT DoCoMo lags far behind Rakuten Symphony, a subsidiary of Rakuten. Rakuten Symphony has already succeeded in exporting O-RAN technologies to overseas MNOs and CSPs, but the NTT research team, which spends 100 million yen every day on R&D, has not produced any results. https://lnkd.in/g4qpjd87
