Here's a weird thing you don't know about job interviews. Ever wondered what truly goes on in your interviewer's mind during a job interview? Beyond the standard queries about your skills and experience, some interviewers apply the 'Airport Test'. They ask themselves: "Could I handle being stuck in an airport with this person?" This isn't just about your qualifications—it's a real test of your interpersonal skills and overall likability. Why the 'Airport Test'? It stems from the idea that colleagues should be competent, personable, and adaptable in various situations—crucial qualities, especially in roles involving teamwork or client-facing tasks. So even if you're an introvert, give enough personality to be likeable. Remember, the key to hacking any human interaction is giving the perfect combination of warmth and competency. So tell personal stories, crack a joke or two and be open. Good luck with your next interview, and follow Brian Mwithi for more information. #jobsearch #interviewtips #careeradvice #jobinterviews

Job Interview: Telling lies seriously 🤣🤣 This image is sarcastic but raises an important point: Should job interviews feel like performances? The best interviews are built on honesty and alignment, not exaggeration. Be truthful about your experiences, highlight your strengths, and show curiosity about the company. For employers: create a safe space for genuine conversations instead of making it a test. #JobInterviews #Honesty #CareerDevelopment #HR

While preparing for placement interviews, someone told me about the ‘Airport test’. The belief was that the interviewer will hire you if you pass the Airport test. What the test entails is - If you and your interviewer are stuck on an airport due to a delayed/cancelled flight, can the interviewer bear you during this wait? - Do you have enough business / industry knowledge to keep up with them during the conversation? - Do you have interests beyond work which you could talk about? If yes, then you have cracked the interview. I think this is till date, one of the best explanations I've heard about cracking interviews. #careers #management #personaldevelopment
