The Group supplies #hydrogen of #renewable origin to power some of the vehicles of Paris 2024’s official fleet. We are happy to announce that we will supply the first hydrogen trains to the Italian region of Puglia, Italy for Ferrovie del Sud Est and in addition, a second order of trains in the framework agreement with FNM S.p.A.. In the Puglia region, we will supply two Coradia Stream H hydrogen trains to replace the current diesel trains - the region’s first hydrogen trains. The second order for two Coradia Stream H trains for FNM is in addition to the six trains already ordered within the existing framework agreement, allowing for a total of 14 trains. Qair Group and Airbus collaborate to shape SAF ecosystem in Occitanie. By Edward Laity Qair Group and Airbus have agreed to jointly structure the sustainable aviation fuels (e-SAF) sector in the French Occitanie region. Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two companies will identify commercial opportunities for a facility capable of producing the hydrogen-based alternative to jet fuel. The collaboration will enable Qair to contribute to the deployment of hydrogen infrastructure for aviation and the development of an ecosystem for e-SAF, particularly in Occitanie. Both Qair and Airbus will create a regional e-SAF ecosystem as a first step, before expanding to nationwide projects for renewable hydrogen production and e-fuels, with the collaboration covering everything from hydrogen and e-SAF supply chain to production and airport delivery. https://lnkd.in/drEJnCQw

🤝 Airbus, Avinor, SAS - Scandinavian Airlines, Swedavia AB and Vattenfall are teaming up to explore #hydrogen infrastructure at over 50 Swedish and Norwegian airports. 🇸🇪🇳🇴 Under a Memorandum of Understanding, the new partnership will focus on #H2 aircraft concepts, operations, supply chain, and infrastructure needs, aiming to identify pathways for transitioning select airports to hydrogen-powered operations. ✈ 19 TWh of H2 will be required as a feedstock to meet 2030 European SAF mandates, and initial commuter-regional H2-powered planes will fly between regional European airports by 2035.   Hydrogen will play a key role in aviation's decarbonisation, both as a feedstock for #sustainableaviationfuel (SAF) production and as a direct fuel.   The latest report for LCP Delta's hydrogen research service uncovers the pace of hydrogen developments in the European #aviation market out to 2035. Through our analysis, backed by consultation with aero manufacturers, airports, airlines, and fuel producers/suppliers, we find:   1️⃣ Aero manufacturers and regional airports are leading the #hydrogen charge.   2️⃣ H2 trailer delivery to airports from off-site production will likely be the dominant supply pathway in the near-term. Some cases of on-site electrolysis can support first-use cases (e.g., Vehicle and GSE refuelling).   3️⃣ To meet the SAF supply mandates in 2030, 19 TWh of hydrogen will be required as feedstock. But a SAF supply crunch is imminent if more SAF projects don't get announced in the next few years.   4️⃣ By 2035, we expect direct H2 to supply initial commuter-regional H2 flight paths in Europe.   In the next decade, the H2 aviation market is focused on bringing the plane technology to market, as well as preparing airports for hydrogen infrastructure and handling.
