A green chapter added on the roof of our new assembly hall! ☀️   We recently moved into our new assembly hall - an exciting step for Geovent! But the building wasn't quite finished yet. On the roof we were planning an important green initiative: the installation of our new solar panels!   Together for green energy: With support from the EU EEnergy programme (SMP-COSME-2023-EENEE) and a strong collaboration with StillingSolceller and SolarBalance ApS, we have taken a concrete step towards providing green energy for our production.   The investment in solar panels is central to our sustainability journey. That's why UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production is also an important part of our strategy. Not least in an industry where environmental impact is often a challenge. We want to grow responsibly - while minimising our climate footprint in relation to our level of activity.   🔋Facts about the new solar plant 192 solar panels: The plant can produce approximately 100,000 kWh per year. Energy storage: The system includes six batteries of 14 kWh each. Optimised management: With the help of Solar Balance's innovative system, we can choose to store, consume or purchase electricity at the most efficient times.   We are excited to continue our journey towards greener production and look forward to the positive changes it will bring in the coming years!   Want to know more about Geovent? In combination with the existing system, we are now able to cover over 70% of our energy needs, ensuring a more sustainable, efficient, and environmentally friendly production. A new community solar project is taking shape in Brandenburg, thanks to a partnership between SolarEdge and Solarstrom Grebs GbR! This initiative will transform 0.7 hectares of unused land into a solar farm generating 922 kW of clean energy, providing affordable electricity to around 250 households. As Earth Month has kicked off, we're thrilled to share the incredible impact of our solar panel initiatives across multiple plants. Last year alone, our Clinton, Nashua North, and Grand Rapids plants collectively generated a whopping 1,453 MWh of clean, renewable energy. By harnessing the power of the sun, we've avoided the equivalent of 677 tonnes of CO2e emissions, which is like planting 16,710 trees or offsetting the emissions from 2,590,699 vehicle miles. 🌳🚗 Collectively, these arrays have generated an astounding 8,922 MWh of energy over their lifetime, showcasing our dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship. In October, the LIFE Turbines project held workshops organized by AEIOLUZ, focused on renewable energy and community empowerment.
