I FAILED MY SQE2 Exams *this video was filmed the day I got my results (20/02/2024)* I was hesitant to post this video on Instagram because of how raw, vulnerable and emotional I was. I didn’t want anyone to take pity on me or have a “woe is me moment” but I also didn’t want to shy away from sharing the low moments of my qualification journey. On social media we are so quick to post the highlight reels, the awards and greatest moments. Life isn’t always that way. Failure and disappointment is part of life and we shouldn’t be ashamed to share that. It’s been 3 days since I got my results and I am feeling much more positive that I was in the video. As a woman of faith I believe in God’s plan for my life and that everything happens for a reason. I accept this setback and I accept the challenge of picking myself up and trying again. I am so so so close to qualifying that I cannot and will not allow myself to give up because of 1%. If you failed your exam or any exam, please let this video be a reminder and a comfort that you aren’t alone. It’s okay to feel anger, disappointment, self doubt and sadness but don’t let yourself stay in them for too long. Let them increase your drive and resilience. I hope the next time I film a sit down video like this I am sharing news of me passing my exams and the tears are of joy not sadness. #sqe #sqe2 #lawstudent #faliure

I cannot believe it is just over a year since I sat my first SQE2 exam. Good luck to the cohort currently sitting SQE2. It has been great reflecting on my SQE2 experience. It is hard. It is tough. A lot of work goes into sitting the exams. Trust the process. If you have put the work in. Truly. Then you will pass. All you can do now is: 1. Stay focused 2. Stay hydrated 3. Get good sleep 4. Breathe slowly Each skill (practical and law) is marked 0-5. You could get a 0 in an exam and still pass. Fortunately for me, I didn’t get a 0. But not all of my marks were fly high 4’s and 5’s either. In fact, I only got 100% in one exam, properly practice interview. Good luck!

Best of luck to everyone taking the SQE1 exams in the next couple of weeks. It takes a lot of hard work and determination to study for the SQE, and whilst I was exempt from the SQE1, I appreciate how difficult the exams are and appreciate how hard students must work to study for them. Just take your time, read each question fully before answering and go with your gut instinct. Good luck! 🤞 #sqe1 #sqestudents #examperiod

SQE2 is fast approaching and, if you event want a shot at passing these monstrous 2 weeks, the first stage is to get your head around structure. Information about the SQE exams taken from the SRA's website isn't easily digestible. It's extremely frustrating, especially when the exams themselves are stressful enough. In an attempt to make the process easier for myself and other students, I've created a concise SQE2 exam breakdown document. Not only does it clearly lay out the 6 types of assessment, it also details: - the frequency of these assessments; - which practice areas are covered for each assessment; and - the logistics of how the assessments will run on the day (timings, materials given etc.) There was so much appetite for the SQE1 specification breakdown, so I'm hoping that this helps with the second stage of the qualification exams. Find the exam breakdown AND a corresponding SQE2 study tracker here: https://lnkd.in/er3MV-N7 #sqe2 #sqe #solicitorsqualifyingexams

Thoughts to all #SQE1 students receiving results tomorrow. Whatever the outcome, remind yourself how much you have actually achieved in a short space of time. SQE1 is an absolute beast of an exam, to take the exam is a huge step in itself. If you haven't passed, then take time to come to terms with it before deciding your next steps. If you're with a provider, speak to your coaches for support and advice. If you're a self study student then reflect on how you approached preparation and the exam to identify your weak areas. It is very important to be reflective during this period, can you say you have given your all, were you consistent with study, did you cover all areas you are assessed on? I am happy to chat with anyone about next steps and how I can support you. Please book a free 121 to discuss how I, as an experienced SQE tutor can help you.
