🔥 Absolutely love this post! 🔥 Being a first-generation student, my experience playing baseball at the community college level paved the way for my Division 1 aspirations, my Bachelor's degree, and even a career in professional baseball. Now, I'm passionate about supporting and advocating for community college student-athletes. That's why I pursued my Masters in College Counseling and Student Development – to give back to students aiming for higher education and athletic success. When I think about the reason California Community Colleges and Santa Ana College means so much to our students, community, alum and to me personally, I think about the purpose around our mission to empower the most talented individuals. Santa Ana College Alum C.J. Wilson and former Angels Professional Baseball player and former Don player--awarded the California Junior College Co-Player of the Year award and I had a fun moment connecting a few years ago during Santa Ana College's 100th celebration. Seeing moments like this again remind me of love of the game of life and higher education and why it all matters so very much. C.J. Wilson
