Sample management is one of the most part of process control and essential in the quality management system. The lab technician must be familiar and proactive in ensuring the quality of the sample from receiving and processing to give the patient accurate results, why?? 🤔Because these results affect patient clinical pathways such as diagnosis, therapeutic decisions, patient care, detect if patient need to enter or still or go out of thehospital. Any defect in sample management leads to inaccurate results also effect on lab efficiency, customer loss, repeating test is consumed time and reagent.👍🏻🧪

A Biochemist/ medical laboratory scientist, public speaker, social worker a teacher,a philanthropist( All rounder). 👩🎓. 👩🔬👩🏫👩🎤. # A turning digital educator# .
There are three main parts a Laboratory is based on . 1) Pre-Analytical. 2) Analytical. 3)Post-Analytical. Pre-Analytical part is extremely important for any laboratory as it plays a vital role to ensure the accuracy and reliability of patients results. ( It includes Phlebotomy, the blood draw, order of blood draw, quantity of the specimen e.t.c). There are multiple factor s that needs to be worked on in pre- analytical part. Among all of them "The order of blood draw is extremely important" to avoid any sort of cross contamination. It is the root cause of the fluctuations in patients results if not taken seriously or not performed in an order.. #healthcare,#Hospital,#Laboratory#.#Phlebotomy#,#Blooddraw#. Got a patient on finasteride but still dealing with high dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels? Here’s the next step: consider Dutasteride, which blocks both type 1 and 2, 5 alpha reductase to further reduce DHT. 📉 And since we’re functional medicine practitioners, let’s not forget natural options like saw palmetto, green tea, and zinc to support DHT management in a holistic way. 🌿 Disclaimer: This content is for educational purposes only and does not substitute for professional medical advice. It always depends on patient's presentation! I am writing this purely from Emergency Medicine , performance improvement and patient satisfaction point of view: 1)Critical patient: Take care of the patient first! 2) Emergent patient: Take care of the emergency with competence while assuring the patient at the same time. Nothing assures like good competence! 3) Stable patient: (a)Be always dressed properly to look your part , (b) Look the patient in the eye with smile on face, compassion in your voice and caring attitude and introduce yourself , say the patient's name and ask as to how could you help. Then listen carefully and attentively with appropriate expressions and guide the patient to obtain as best a history as possible with focus on presenting complaint. You may not need all historical details all at once. Start examining the patient starting with the presenting problem area first. You can also complete history while completing the examination so the patient feels that you are attending to the presenting problem first e.g. you don't need family history right away for snakebite , fracture or auto accident. Try your best to give relief as soon as possible without encouraging drug seeking behavior. Sometime in this whole process when appropriate you will also have to interact with the family/friend/other caregiver with the same professionalism. Be the best ambassador of your profession with competence, compassion and caring attitude and show it! Regards, Suresh Wable, MD, FACEP
