Imagine you’re at a restaurant. Your food arrives, but before you take a bite, you scrape a third of your meal into a tableside trashcan. That’s pretty much what happens in the U.S. every day, where 30-40% of food produced ends up going to waste. A fair amount of that loss occurs during transport due to temperature control issues. Writing in Food Logistics, EROAD’s Travis Ross discusses advanced technologies that help carriers minimize lost loads while cutting costs and boosting efficiency. “Adopting advanced reefer monitoring and control tools empowers carriers to transform their cold chain operations,” he writes. “In addition to reducing financial losses from rejected loads, these technologies can go a long way toward curbing transportation-related food waste.” Check out the full article here: https://bit.ly/4c2EJOA
