My thoughts on the new iPad campaign by Apple: (1) Many people feel like the crushing diminished humans’ creative achievements by replacing them with an iPad, which is exactly what I addressed in my recent article — don’t put AI/tech first and humans last. Unfortunately, that’s the perception this ad created. (2) Obviously, the other purpose of the crushing is that it’s supposed to lead to a “major” selling point — iPad being the thinnest device Apple ever created. But nobody cares. It’s no longer an innovative selling point for a consumer. Again, your opinion as an advertiser doesn’t matter — the only thing that matters is what your consumer thinks, wants, and demands from the market. (3) For those who haven’t seen the reverse version (an unofficial version made by Reza Sixo Safai), I attached it below. Can you see how the reverse version creates a completely different impression? It switches the mood from negative to positive, which is a much more powerful selling point. We have to challenge ourselves to look at our campaigns differently because it can make a huge difference. 🎬 We are on the verge of a monumental shift in filmmaking. Shooting premium content on an iPhone—now enhanced by AI technology—is becoming the norm, opening the door for a wave of new creators and filmmakers. For instance, ¡Suerte! was shot using the iPhone 15 Pro, delivering incredible striking visuals. Plus, the sequel to '28 Days Later,' reportedly titled '28 Years Later,' is set to be the first blockbuster filmed entirely on an iPhone! This evolution of technology in filmmaking is paving the way for new creative possibilities, allowing a broader and more diverse group of creators to explore innovative techniques across various environments and locations. This surge in versatility and accessibility significantly lowers the barrier to entry, enabling more people than ever to be part of the filmmaking world. 🌟 #Filmmaking #iPhone #Innovation #NewTalent #content #storytelling Apple
Commissioned by Apple. See how some of the craziest moments in ¡Suerte! were shot using the cinematic features of the iPhone 15 Pro for incredible low-light videos, stable shots, and striking visuals. The film, starring musician Ivan Cornejo, and directed by CLIQUA, pays tribute to Mexican culture and is inspired by the traditional game of lotería. #ShotoniPhone #ShotoniPhone15Pro #filmmaking #behindthescenes

In the 1950s, amidst America's post-war economic boom, Sony, a small Japanese company, revolutionized the consumer electronics market. While major players like RCA and Zenith focused on high-quality, expensive music consoles, Sony introduced portable transistor radios. Initially inferior in sound quality, these radios appealed to American teenagers, a market segment previously overlooked. This strategic move allowed Sony to gradually improve their technology and eventually dominate the radio market, showcasing the power of innovative thinking and market adaptation. #Sony #Innovation #MarketDisruption #BusinessStrategy

Brilliant take on how to get it right. The pompous and destructive version of the ad is reversed in this version and it does make more sense. It beautifully shows that technology like the iPad is not replacing traditional art, but rather, enhancing it, making it more accessible and boundless. This will make a good case study in advertising.

Amazing how much of a difference a tiny creative tweak can make. Everyone is hating on “that” Apple ad right now, with some justification. But watch it in reverse and it becomes a thing of absolute beauty without compromising the message one bit. They missed a creative trick there.

Yes, I’m still rocking my JVC noise canceling head phones from circa 1999 or maybe the early 2000s?! I remember feeling like the coolest kid on the block listening to music through my Walkman. However, I’d like to retire these soon! Share your favorite WIRELESS noise canceling headphones with a mic below! I’ve heard great things about Sony + Avid. #learninganddevelopment #headphones #throwback #90sbaby #instructionaldesign

Apple's new iPad commercial subliminally (or maybe not so) implies that creatives are no longer needed now that we have new technology. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the new AI world when those tools are used to ENHANCE human creativity, not replace it. So, it was only a matter of time that someone came out with an alternate version of the ad.. A version that I feel tells a far better story where tech and humans compliment each other (if you haven't seen the original, it's below - link #1). It's such a simple change to the ad but now it tells a more inclusive story and gives of 'this is a partnership' vibes. What do you think?
