Just made my first visit to the incredibly beautiful districts of Upper and Lower Chitral to witness the work being done by the Aga Khan Agency and the @uninpak. These communities are facing the severe impacts of climate change firsthand. In Chitral, climate change isn’t theoretical or “contested”—it’s an existential threat. With glacial outbursts caused by warming glaciers and flash floods that bring torrents of debris, people are being displaced, and homes and infrastructure are being destroyed. These communities, who have coexisted with nature for centuries, are now dealing with a changing climate that is not of their own making. They need our global solidarity. The story of Chitral is one of resilience, beauty, and community—but also of global inaction. Thank you AKA for organising the visit and @eudelegationpakistan for joining. 🌍 #ClimateChange #Chitral #Resilience #Community #UNinPakistan #Solidarity
