Entr supports US floating offshore wind 🌊 Aker Solutions’ consultancy arm, Entr has delivered an execution analysis for phase two of the FLoating Offshore Wind ReadINess (FLOWIN) competition! The study follows the US Department of Energy’s (DoE) award to Aker Solutions and Principle Power, which includes a $450,000 cash prize and $100,000 of technical assistance from the DOE National Labs. Entr’s work supports Aker Solutions’ close collaboration with Principle Power to advance the serial manufacturing of WindFloat® foundations. 🤝 Part of DoE’s American-Made Challenges series, FLOWIN is a three-part initiative designed to pave the way for cost-effective, commercial-scale floating offshore wind technologies in the US. With decades of expertise in delivering large and complex structures to the offshore industry since the 1980s, the FLOWIN prize has provided the Entr team with a unique opportunity to explore ways to serialize fabrication, drive further innovation, and reduce the cost of floating offshore wind developments.
