**Ohio’s New Recreational Marijuana Dispensaries: A Growing Cross-State Dilemma** Ohio has recently opened nearly 100 recreational marijuana dispensaries, drawing interest from residents of neighboring states like Pennsylvania, where recreational marijuana is still illegal. While Pennsylvanians can legally purchase marijuana in Ohio, bringing it back across state lines could lead to severe legal consequences, including federal prosecution. This situation highlights the complex legal landscape surrounding marijuana use and possession, especially for those living near state borders. In Pennsylvania, efforts to legalize marijuana continue, with Governor Josh Shapiro pushing for legalization in his budget proposal. However, it’s uncertain when, or if, these changes will take effect. As more states legalize recreational marijuana, the patchwork of laws creates challenges and risks for consumers, underscoring the need for clear guidance and potential federal reforms. 🚨 **What are your thoughts on the current state of marijuana legalization? The shares of MSOS - an ETF that tracks US marijuana multistate operators (MSOs) like Curaleaf and Trulieve - has soared about 58% since October, which we attribute to multiple positive events affecting MSOs. These include the HHS recommendation last August for the DEA to reschedule cannabis, followed by Ohio's legalization of recreational marijuana use in November. What's next? Look for possible Florida recreational legalization, spreading legal cannabis use in Germany, and industry reverberations tied to Trulieve's $113 million of tax refunds tied to IRS Code 280E.
