Helping frustrated GenX women plot their escape from unsatisfying jobs by figuring out their mission and finding the confidence to make it happen | Join my 'missions: accepted' group coaching programme | £595 lifetime|
Most of you will know me on here for the work I do with Gen X women, supporting them to identify their mission and ensuring they have the confidence to make it happen. What you might not know is that I also get to coach fabulous founders in the geotech and proptech space, as part of the support offered to them from the Geovation accelerator programme. (I don't seem to be able to tag them for some reason!) The founders face a whirlwind of challenges as they raise funds, build their businesses, manage work-life harmony, start hiring teams and develop products. It's such a privilege to be part of their journey. So, it was lovely to get a shout-out from hesti below, recognising the value that coaching can bring to the startup equation. Geovation is ahead of the game in offering this kind of support, and I'd love to see more founders have access to it. Great work happens in these accelerators, and founders deserve all the help they can get to navigate the challenges.
This last couple of weeks have been busy. While juggling our fundraising we've also crammed in quite a few things: 👩🎓 We welcomed our new intern Olivia. Thanks Jo MacCrimmon for facilitating it! 🏡 We caught up with Jake Boomhauer who introduced us to Matthew Suggitt to discuss how the missions of Lighthouse and hesti could be aligned 🏛 We discussed with Edward Poynton and James Newhall the important work they do to help developers gain planning through PR campaigns 📣 We attended the Ealing Property meet, hosted by Richard Woodstock and listened to a courageous and inspirational talk by Paul Higgs MRICS 🌳 We discussed the needs of land agents and rural land managers with Amy Bowden MRICS from Fisher German LLP. It was great to hear how we can tailor our solution to your requirements 🧳 Thanks you to Cesare Fialà from Culture Hint for taking the time to introduce his startup to us. It was great to explore how we could use your data to improve our value proposition 👩🏫 Thanks to Suzi Butcher for keeping us sane in the rollercoaster that is startup life! 📖 We discussed the data needs of our partners in mission to fight the housing crisis, Kettel Homes with their founder Trevor Stunden. They're doing a great job in widening the access to home ownership. Check them out! 🌺 We attended an insightful panel organised by Geovation and moderated by Isabelle Chatel de Brancion discussing the upcoming Biodiversity Net Gain. It was great to see our fellow accelerator cohort member Rafi Cohen presenting alongside Helen Nyul from Barratt Developments plc, Garreth Bruff from Planning Advisory Services, LLC and Joe Heath from The Land Trust #development #startup #biodiversity #biodiversitynetgain #housingcrisis #mmc #modular

Founder at Blue Turaco Coffee - Championing Ugandan Specialty Robusta: Making coffee accessible, empowering small-holder coffee farmers, and fighting childhood hunger through coffee and wildlife safaris
It indeed takes a whole village to renovate a road 😜😉 Yesterday, the entire village paused work in their coffee gardens to focus on renovating the road. Here’s a photo of the freshly renovated road in jungwe. This village, just outside Mityana, is home to 300 families. It’s also one of the places where I grow BLUE TURACO COFFEE and buy lots more too. In the world of business, investing time in a village road might not seem like it has a clear return. But for me and my team , this is partly what coffee growing is all about—creating social and economic impact and building long lasting relationships. We continue to do what’s right for our communities, even when others might not see the direct value. Our smallholder farmers see the value. And it helps them understand the benefits of producing high-quality Robusta coffees. Don’t do it because it looks good. Do it because it’s the right thing to do. Lets connect Wycliffe Sande #community #startup #selfhelp #coffee #robustacofffee #impact

What does the future of housing look like? Given the changes we’re already starting to feel in the climate, tomorrow’s housing could be very different to what we see today. It potentially could look like what Kionnali Living Systems Ltd is building. While today’s homes are made up of a physical structure and then a bunch of different and very separate systems inside (electricity, water, internet etc), this Aberdeen-based startup has other ideas. “We're trying to see an entire building as an ecosystem,” explains Corrin Fox, who has co-founded Kionnali with Avriel Skolnick. “From the construction of the building, to the systems that operate it–utilities, energy, all that stuff–and then all the way to the user experience of living in the building and how the user interacts with it.” Read the full story of what they're working on in today's edition of PreSeed Now:
Housing needs a radical rethink for the 21st century
