👋 Here's the update that I promised: I've chosen to pivot my career to work on shifting our food system to be in alignment with common values. 🐣 Most of us (carnivores to vegans) find that our current agricultural system is not serving our values. We adore animals, and don't believe that they should unnecessarily suffer. Despite this, three-quarters of our global animal products continue to come from factory farms (https://lnkd.in/grmti3Xt), subjecting well-above 50 billion animals to cruel conditions every year. Simultaneously, less than 0.5% (~$200 M/year) of charitable dollars go to helping farmed animals. 🌍 I’m working on bringing more funds to this cause, and am honoured to join the incredibly dedicated community that is creating a better food system. 📚 I've been learning at Faunalytics, an impactful organization that empowers animal advocates with original research, a curated research library, and direct research support. As part of my fundraising role, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in their findings and learning from Liz Wheeler, a leader in the movement's fundraising space! ✍ In complement, I've just started as an incubatee within ProVeg Incubator's Kickstarting For Good program. I'll be combining my learnings, from nonprofit consulting and direct nonprofit work, with mentorship from this incredible program in attempts to co-found a nonprofit that brings more funds to the movement. 💖 A major thanks to the community that supported this pivot: Faunalytics, ProVeg Incubator, High Impact Professionals, & Animal Advocacy Careers!
