Making It Work: Flexibility and Balance Between meetings, deadlines, personal goals, and family responsibilities and somewhere in there, you’re supposed to find time for yourself. Sound familiar? We’ve seen the shift from work life balance to work life integration. Whatever strategy you choose to adopt there are keys to making it work: 📍Clarify - Be clear about what you want. Life is in phases, there is something that works for each phase. Find it and seek the support you need. 📍Communicate - Let your team or clients know your rhythm so you’re not always on call. Women are rewriting the rules of work. We’re showing that we can lead a team, hit our goals, and still show up for the people and things you love. Is it perfect? Nope. But it’s progress. So, to every woman making it happen: give yourself credit and remember, practice self care. With every effort, you are showing that balance is doing what matters most. As you take simple steps one day at a time, you inspire others to find their flow. #womeninTech #flexibility #worklifebalance #linkedincommunity

Work-Life Balance: Rethinking the Emphasis The topic of work-life balance is often overly emphasized, especially concerning working women. Every time I encounter a conference session on this topic, I find myself questioning: have we not moved on? Even after a decade, we’re still discussing it. To all the women striving for perfection, let me share a reality check: a perfect work-life balance is a myth. It's an ideal so ingrained in our minds that we constantly seek an impossible equilibrium. There are days when you have to prioritize that critical meeting over a family birthday dinner. There are days when family comes first, and deadlines are missed. There are days when a long-awaited coffee with a friend is the priority. There are days when late-night projects mean missing a child's goodbye before school. Every day presents a new set of priorities. In the quest for work-life balance, one aspect often takes precedence over the other, and that's perfectly okay. Let’s focus our energy on today’s priorities and move beyond this long-overdue conversation. #worklofebalance #workingwomen #myth #prioritiessetstraight

It was an awesome experience as a Speaker at the Plenary 3 session on Day 2 at the WIMBIZ Annual Conference on the 8th of November 2024...#Dream #Dare #Do. On the issue of work life balance....In my professional experience working with women, I prefer to talk about "work-life harmony" rather than balance. The idea of balance can imply an equal distribution of time and energy, which is often unrealistic and, frankly, adds pressure. Harmony, on the other hand, emphasizes fluidity and finding ways to make both aspects of life coexist in a way that feels fulfilling and manageable. Women can cultivate this harmony by shifting their mindset from seeking “perfect balance” to “flexible harmony.” This approach involves recognizing that different seasons of life or work may require varying degrees of attention in each area. By setting priorities that align with current needs and values—and allowing those priorities to shift as circumstances change—women can create a more compassionate, adaptive way of managing their lives. It's about focusing on the quality of time and presence rather than an even split. It''s about setting boundaries and learning to say NO! I will write more tips on 'overcoming emotional hurdles on a woman' journey' #wimbiz23rdannualconference #dreamdaredo #worklifebalance #womenleaders

Going beyond old notions of "#work-#life #balance" There’s an old misconception that “work–life balance” means spending equal amounts of time on work and non-work life (like balancing out two sides of a measuring scale), but that’s not true. A good work-life balance for women involves prioritizing well-being, setting boundaries and embracing flexibility. It's about recognizing that personal and professional success coexist harmoniously, allowing women to thrive in their careers while nurturing a fulfilling and meaningful life beyond the workplace.

Work-life balance means different things to different people. Hear from Alex Crass (She/Her), Marketing Director at Randstad UK&I, as she redefines what work-life balance means to her. She says, “As an independent parent – work-life balance can be tough. It’s important to talk about our challenges and be kind to ourselves during this journey. When we consider 'balance' let's also recognise the quality of life, choices and opportunities our hard work facilitates for our family.” What does work-life balance mean to you? Tell us in the comments below. Stay tuned for more stories from our Parenting Employee Network Group on how Randstad’s work culture has made a difference in their lives. #WorkLifeWeek #MyFlex #WorkLifeBalance

All of us career oriented and driven women often hear about work-life balance and how it can be tough to achieve. Is work-life balance a myth? The reason I say work-life balance is a myth is that work is not separate from life but rather a part of it. As women who are ambitious in our careers, we feel extra pressure to prove ourselves. This often leads to placing too much emphasis on our work, making it hard to separate our work from other aspects of our lives. We’ve all been there. We also juggle many responsibilities as mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, colleagues, and friends. There are hobbies and interests we want to achieve and it’s equally important to look after our physical, emotional and mental well being. All of these things are important and make up different domains of our lives. In life we need to juggle the domains and the non-negotiables that we cannot afford to drop are our health, relationships, and passions — the things that make us feel whole and complete. As career-driven women, there is a desire to have it all — success in our careers, time with family, and self-care. It is possible, but not all at once. We need to perfect the art of juggling the different domains by recognizing that there is a time for everything and everything in its time! We need to steady ourselves and give each domain the attention it deserves. We can keep all the domains from falling if we live mindfully wherever we find ourselves—at work or with family. If we focus on finding the right balance that works for us rather than achieving a perfect balance. Let’s prioritize and identify what’s essential in our lives to achieve a fulfilling and balanced life. Work-life balance is both a myth and a reality. The reality is that we must make choices that allow us to thrive both professionally and personally. And that choice is what helps us live a full life. #womeninleadership #worklifebalance #livemindfully #livepurposefully #fulfilling #grow
