Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming members of UCL’s Society of Engineering and Architectural Design (SEAD) into our offices. The students came to visit for an exclusive tour and insightful talk from Director Valentina Galmozzi and Associate Gianluca Mortarotti. It was fantastic to engage with such a #passionate group of students, eager to explore the intersection of #architecture and #engineering in practice. Valentina and Gianluca shared their experiences and perspectives on design innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the future of the built environment. Following the talk, the group enjoyed a light (and late!) lunch alongside a informal Q&A, where students had the opportunity to ask AKT II questions, exchange ideas, and gain deeper insights into our work and approach. A huge thank you to Society of Engineering and Architectural Design (SEAD) for visiting – we always value the opportunity to #connect with the next generation of designers and engineers. Looking forward to more #inspiring conversations like this in the future! #UCL #SEAD #Engineering #Architecture #DesignInnovation #FutureTalent

As part of the Introduction to Architecture Theory assessment for B.Arch 1st-year students, students were tasked with taking inspiration from a natural form and translating it into an abstract model. This exercise enabled them to develop an understanding of design elements and the transformation process. It allowed them to explore various aspects, including - Shape, Structural integrity, Texture and materiality, Proportion and scale, Symmetry and asymmetry, and Organic patterns. The task encouraged creativity and critical analysis, requiring students to understand the intricacies of natural structures and re-imagine them in a simplified or stylised manner – a key skill in architecture. #MeasiAcademyofArchitecture #ArchitectureTheory #DesignElements #TransformationProcess #ArchitectureStudents #LearningExperience #CreativeExercise #ArchitecturalDesign

<<BSc (Hons) Architectural Studies Workshop>> In January, we had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring workshop to introduce our new BSc (Hons) in Architectural Studies. This workshop offered secondary school students a fantastic opportunity to discover the unique wonders of architecture and explore diverse career paths within this vibrant field. Participants also got a sneak peek at our curriculum and enjoyed an engaging architecture game. The BSc (Hons) in Architectural Studies programme is hosted by BRE and co-hosted by the PolyU School of Design, for the 2025/26 cohort. The programme aims to provide quality education to familiarise architectural students with the latest advanced technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Building Information Modelling and advanced construction technology relating to architecture, construction, building materials and building services to respond to issues of sustainable development in the built environment. The uniqueness of the programme lies in the integration of knowledge and analytical tools, digital skills and transferable skills with design capabilities for the needs of the architecture profession. Stay tuned for more exciting events! 🏛️ Exploring Innovation in Architectural Education 🏗️ We are excited to feature an insightful article from the Journal of Advance Research in Education & Literature (Vol. 4 No. 12, 2018) titled "Innovation in Architectural Education" by Olga Davydova, Ph.D., Associate Professor at SUSU. 📄 Abstract: This article delves into the critical aspects of architectural education, highlighting the integration of fundamental science, educational processes, and the needs of potential project stakeholders. Dr. Davydova discusses how the architectural profession is not just about designing buildings but also about shaping social ideals and public consciousness for future generations. Key Highlights: Cognitive and Creative Competencies: The study emphasizes the importance of cognitive and creative organizational competencies in architecture, focusing on self-awareness, self-prediction, and self-assessment throughout the project lifecycle. Educational Strategies: The paper discusses how educators can enhance the learning experience by organizing visibility in teacher-student relationships, ensuring that students can unpack and apply knowledge at the right time. Architectural Innovation: The exploration of new architectural forms and unused opportunities is crucial, especially in a rapidly changing world that demands adaptive and forward-thinking solutions. 🔗 Read the full article to explore these ideas in detail and understand the future direction of architectural education. 🔗 DOI: https://lnkd.in/dif67gSE 🔗 Publication URL: https://lnkd.in/djkhjtug #ArchitecturalEducation #InnovationInArchitecture #CognitiveCompetence #CreativeProcess #EducationalStrategies #JournalOfAdvanceResearch #Architecture #HigherEducation
