🚍 Dubai's RTA Emphasizes School Bus Safety for the Upcoming Academic Year 🚍 As the new school year approaches, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has underscored the importance of ensuring a safe and comfortable commute for students. School administrations and bus operators are urged to adhere strictly to health and safety standards to create a secure educational environment. 🔹 Key Safety Measures: 💠 Regular Inspections: Buses undergo frequent inspections to confirm their safety and roadworthiness. Emergency devices are installed to guarantee swift responses in case of any incidents. 💠 Attendant Responsibilities: Bus attendants are tasked with escorting students to the nearest point to their homes, ensuring their safety during drop-offs. 💠 Adherence to Traffic Regulations: School bus operators must instruct drivers to strictly follow traffic laws, especially near school zones, to avoid obstructing other vehicles and ensure smooth traffic flow. 💠 Parking Protocols: Drivers are advised against parking buses in front of school entrances and exits to mitigate congestion. 💠 Comprehensive Training: School transport companies are mandated to provide training for drivers and attendants on managing students safely and professionally, focusing on safe driving practices and continuous communication with parents. 🔹 Continuous Monitoring and Acknowledgement: The RTA continuously monitors the school transport sector’s performance across Dubai, recognizing the crucial role it plays in the safety and well-being of students. The authority acknowledges the efforts of operators and school administrations in ensuring the safety of students during their daily commutes. #SchoolBusSafety #DubaiRTA #StudentSafety #SafeCommute #BackToSchool #RoadSafety #TrafficRegulations #BusSafety #UAEEducation #DubaiUpdates

Looking at the six steps for Papua New Guineans - New learners to acquire driver's license, Step 1, Cost is likely to be involved - you may need to see medical practitioners to arrange that and get some sort of medical clearance. ste four and five, corruption is likely to be involved in securing an appointment at the earliest, hence Cost may be involved as well. Step six, again corruption may or may not be involved depending on the officer serving and the time frame as well. So Cost may or may not be involved. looking at it in a broader perspective, the process itself is not user-friendly. It may look lengthy and Costly. Hence many driver's resort to quick scheme just to get a license and the negative impact is realized through the many road traffic accidents. Just because the driver knows how to drive doesn't mean he/she can just resort to corruption and illegally acquire driver's license. He/she must be well trained and licensed properly through a process which is user-friendly and corruption free to operate motor vehicle. Current steps to acquire driver's license: 1. Get Medical test (eye test). Cost??? 2. Get a a learners permit filled out at MVIL or Central Traffic Office if you are in Port Moresby. Cost is K70 at the moment. 3. Pay for Drivers Test Fees at PNG Finance Department at Vulupindi haus. Cost is K100 at the moment. 4. Go to Boroko Traffic Office to have a driving lessons. Note: you will have to go see them for an appointment to get tested. 5. They'll set a date for you to be get tested. If you are not in Port Moresby, check out your local Traffic office in your province to have the driving testing done. 6. After successful test, go back to MVIL or Central Traffic/ your province traffic office to get your driving license .

I've come to realize the most dangerous time to drive a vehicle, and they are:- 1. When it's raining 2. At night 3. During festive period Why is it a dangerous time to drive during festive period? There is an adage in Yoruba language that says "Iṣẹ́ Ò Kìí Pani, Ayọ̀ Ló Ń Pààyàn" which simply means "Work Never Kill Anyone, But Over Excitement Does" (Don't allow joy to intosticate you). Drivers will get drunk and put their vehicle on the road to drive, and this happens most in festive period Learners meant to be driving under the supervision of a professional driver will forcefully put their vehicle on the road to drive The over excitement will make them to ignore the traffic rules and signs. Can you just accept during festive period that you are the only sane person driving in the midst of insane drivers? As we pray to God for maximum protection, may we not be the cause of accident for ourselves and other road users because of unprofessionalism most especially during festive period! Drive safely, And be security conscious! #JoeSteeringWheelTravelAndTour Lagos State Scholarship Board LAGOS STATE DEVELOPMENT AND PROPERTY CORPORATION Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency Lagos State Government Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF)

It`s very worrisome for all of us as repetitive incidents cause concern for our child's safety. We all knew about the incident while crossing the roads / embarking from bus. This is high time to ask our transporters to revisit their safety arrangements and also clearly define the roles and responsibilities of their driver and bus attendant/ caretaker. DRIVER: • Check Traffic/Road: Make sure the road and surroundings are clear of any immediate dangers such as other vehicles or obstacles. Driver shall scan the road / safe exit before opening the door • Always park the vehicle at the designated parking, incase STOP is required at other location, ensure Bus Exit is on the dead side of road/opposite of ongoing traffic Caretaker • shall get down first from the bus and guide the children for safe embarking. • shall supervise the children, if any road crossing is required / handover the child to parents Transporter / Parents: • Create designated safe zones where children can wait for and disembark from the bus away from traffic. • Raise awareness to the drivers and caretakers for all Do`s & Don`ts • Parents Stay Visible: Stand on the side of the road where the children disembark to avoid them crossing the street Children: • Walk, Don’t Run: Instruct children to walk promptly but not to run when exiting the bus • Look Both Ways: Remind children to look both ways before stepping off the bus, even if traffic is supposed to stop. What was your first job? When I was an ESL teacher, we often talked about this question. For some of my students, this was a foreign concept because they weren't able to take a formal job, especially girls. And in SE Asia many of my students worked for their family as labour with no wage. In families with many children, older siblings often had to babysit their brothers or sisters. It was how the family survived and how the parents made enough money to feed everyone. My first job was bagging sheep manure from under our shearing shed and selling it (at vastly reduced prices!) to family friends and my parents. It taught me the value of money and what hard work was. I bought my first tape recorder (remember those? 🤣 ) from the proceeds and later paid for my plane ticket to Tasmania for a family holiday. It was a back-breaking job! Founder & CEO, Apt Learnings | EduPreneur | Passionate Trainer | On a mission to upskill Business students
So couple of days before, I was travelling from my hometown to nearest city Thrissur in a private bus.🚌 The bus was fully crowded with passengers as it was a peak time of schools , colleges and offices. Hence it was a 20 kms ride, it's really difficult to hang on the bars . I was curiously watching school going kids and remembering my good old school days where I used to carry heavy school bag and goes in heavily crowded bus, just like them. As the bus was at just 8 kms ahead of Thrissur the seats became vacant and I got empty seat to sit. Near me I saw a 5th Std boy who poorly hanged in the bar with his short lengthen hands by carrying a heavy bag.🎒 So I told him to just sit besides me as the seat is vacant but he politely refused. I asked him the reason and this has to be addressed. He is just afraid of the staffs in bus as they will scold these kids even if they sit on vacant seats. Why this aggression towards children ? The reason is very simple ! They wont pay full charge but concession instead which is very less than ordinary passengers. Why government introduced bus concession ? It's to promote the education for children in india and to support their day today school going expenses. Do you think school students have a reason to fear bus staffs just because of this ? I m sure, you guys would also experienced such situations. 📚 COMMNET below your views on this. #privatebus #students #righttoeducation
