IT’S THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR for a recap of this year’s experiences from inside the ropes, as I observed how many different ways that golfers abuse the simple rules and cheat, without giving it a second thought. The article that follows is a recap of this year’s experiences from inside the ropes, as I observed how many different ways that golfers abuse the simple rules of golf and cheat, without giving it a second thought. It’s Part 3 of a Trilogy of articles that I wrote in 2008 and 2012 respectively; purposely being kept short, including only the simple and obvious infractions that I see during virtually every round I play.If I went into detail about all the examples of cheating that I’ve witnessed since the 1970s, this article would take days to read. Whether you agree or not with my findings, I welcome your comments, personal experiences, insults, etc.

Well maybe? I have played many games but very little golf. As far as I can remember, in almost all the games I played with one or more individuals, We knew the rules and depending on the game, cards, monopoly, etc. We may have changed the "rules". Not necessarily to get a better score or to win, but to quicken the pace and get to the end game, pun intended. And play again. If the stakes are nonexistent, change the rules. If the stakes are some ranking, bragging rights, or more, play by the rules. And by nature, people in any situation, make up their own rules.
