New structure of the People's Liberation Army (PLA - China). The four branches of the armed forces are: Land Forces, Navy, Air Force and Missile Forces. Four separate branches of forces (troops): Military Space Forces, Cyberspace Forces, Information Support Forces, Joint Logistics Support Forces Thus, the former Strategic Support Forces were disbanded and on their basis the Military Space Forces, Cyberspace Forces, and Information Support Forces were created. https://lnkd.in/dspTtYeK

There a very few strategic level engagements that compare to Allied Warfighters Talks! 🛡 ⚔ Since 2009 this annual gathering of top US and ACT military leaders has changed its format and scope, but continues to dive deep into most relevant and pressing issues of the time. This year, under the theme “Seizing advantage today and tomorrow: operationalizing a global shape and contest strategy,” we unpacked conceptual constraints, operational challenges in a multi-domain environment, and warfare development needs. ⚔ While co-moderating with LGEN Dagvin Anderson the impressive panel on “Policy and Strategy Perspectives: Shaping, Contesting, and Deterring Strategic Competitors” we discussed the need to develop a common mindset about MDO and strategic deterrence across political and military leadership, share awareness about risks of miscalculation and implications if strategic deterrence would fail. 🛡 Special thanks to H.E. Karen Pierce and H.E. Audra Plepyte for joining our military family and providing valuable political and diplomatic, regional and global perspectives.

Changes in the dynamics of warfare have seen troop numbers decrease while technological sophistication has increased. Over the last decade, 100 countries reduced their armed forces personnel, while global military capability increased by over 10%. The graph below shows the trend in overall military capability for the six largest military powers. Of these six countries, China has experienced the most significant increase in its overall military capability since 2014. Conversely, France and Russia recorded a small contraction in their overall military capability over the same period.

In my humblest opinion: SPP and SFAB interaction is the Quintessential connection point between our allies and our military. Both programs can change countries' generation of soldiers and their ability to fight future wars. From both allies to our internal force, both programs and enterprises are of strategic importance for the future of the joint forces

Lessons from the revolution in warfare underway on the Ukraine battlefield beginning to take hold among U.S. military leadership. The transparent battlefield and the proliferation of precision weapons has put an end to large scale offensive operations. In multiple conversations with Ukrainian frontline commanders over recent months the same consistent message: Massing troops becomes suicidal under these conditions. We're at a period analogous to the indirect fire revolution of WW1 and we have yet to find the answer to restoring mobility to the battlefield. https://lnkd.in/eefMpNFn

5th generation warfare (5GW) is fundamentally different from previous generations of warfare in its focus on manipulating perceptions and information to achieve strategic objectives. In contrast, previous generations of warfare were more focused on direct military confrontations, with clear distinctions between combatants and civilians, and the use of traditional military force to achieve objectives. 5GW represents a paradigm shift in strategic thinking, where the manipulation of perceptions and information often overshadows traditional military might. #paradigm shift

All V-22s Grounded, Probe Finds Materiel Failure Possible In USAF Crash The entire Bell Boeing V-22 fleet has been grounded after a preliminary U.S. Air Force investigation into the Nov. 29 crash near Japan found that a “potential materiel failure” could have caused the mishap. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) boss Lt. Gen. Tony Bauernfeind ordered the operational stand down of the command’s fleet on Dec. 6, shortly after Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) instituted a grounding bulletin for all its V-22 variants. It is the second time this year that V-22s from all U.S. military services have been grounded. The Japan Maritime Self Defense Force had also grounded its V-22s following the Nov. 29 crash. The Army’s new cross-functional team for “all-domain sensing” will be looking at ways to fuse what was historically exquisite intelligence systems to the edge at the point of need to increase the speed of decision-making. As the U.S. military is preparing for potential battles with sophisticated nation-states, the way in which wars will be carried out is expected to be much different than past conflicts.
