I dreamt that I was in a Parallel Universe… 🌏 I stood at the edge of the SXSW Sydney stage, heart pounding, palms sweating. The audience was a sea of expectant faces, industry titans and venture capitalists among them. My pitch deck, meticulously prepared, suddenly felt inadequate. "What if they don't understand the potential of Asian innovation? What if I'm not the right person to represent our region's talent?" But then I remembered why I was there. Not just for my startup, but for every #Asian entrepreneur who'd ever felt overlooked on the global stage. I took a deep breath and stepped into the spotlight. 1️⃣ I opened with a story, not statistics. I painted a vivid picture of the problem we're solving, rooted in real Asian experiences. 2️⃣ Instead of listing features, I demonstrated our solution live, showing its real-world impact in under 60 seconds. 3️⃣ I addressed potential doubts head-on, turning our "outsider" status into our greatest strength. 4️⃣ I closed by connecting our vision to SXSW's theme of "What's Next," positioning Asian innovation as the answer. As I finished, the room erupted in applause. Questions flew, business cards were exchanged, and suddenly, doors that had seemed closed began to open. This experience taught me that our unique perspectives as Asian entrepreneurs aren't limitations – they're our superpower. ⚡️ We don't need to imitate Silicon Valley; we need to amplify our own voices.
