It was my absolute honor to represent CNA Insurance at this year’s LAAIA - Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies Convention. I had a chance to share some of the trends, challenges and opportunities that exist within the Small Business insurance market. It’s important that are agents diversify their books especially in a hard market. Find ways you can grow and pivot. Life Sciences and Technology are two segments that are extremely profitable and healthy for your book of business. #insuranceisfun #smallbusinessinsurance #lifescience #technology

Technology are two huge industries for CNA. It's extremely profitable. You don't have the issues of, you know, large increases and you know, we're talking about ensuring nutraceutical companies, technology companies that do software development. There are so many different industries that are emerging and a lot of it, you know, stemmed from all the challenges that we had through COVID the the life science and biotech industry just. Blew up, right, all this research that was happening and those, those small little Bob policies, right, those little packages that you write for 450 once they get that, once they get the funding, you're getting product liability and premiums of 300,000. So the opportunities for you as an agent is, is really my message is, is diversify your book of business. If you're a personal lines guy or a girl, right? Get into commercial and if you're into commercial, look at different industries. That's a huge opportunity for you. And one of the things I'll close, I'll close with this is one of the things that CNA is is extremely excited about is in the fourth quarter of this year, we're going to be piloting a program called the Academy with LA. And it's going to be just kind of an entry level opportunity to teach, you know, some of those young agents that we're trying to attract into the industry, right about what are some of the coverages that you need to have for a small business? Talk about what are the emerging industries like technology, life science and then dive into the coverages. Right. You wanna teach people more about what it is to offer our workers compensation policy. That type of education that we can offer you as not only as an association but as an independent agent is going to just expand and give you more opportunities in the future.
